Regional Program for Ageing Society 2014-2020 in Warmia Mazury Region • February 2013 – drafting of the new

programme begins

• The aim of the new programme was to specify types of activities for seniors in all spheres of social life that would help to create a new senior-friendly social environment

The New Programme specifies four areas of support for seniors:

• I – Health (prevention, rehabilitation), infrastructure and social services

• II – Social, cultural and educational activity

• III – Professional activity

• IV – Tourism, sports and recreation

The Programme was adopted by the Board of the Warmia-Mazury Voivodeship (Resolution No 4/39/14/IV) on 20th January 2014

The Programme serves as a basis

for similar local programmes for seniors implemented in municipalities

across the region.

Age Friendly Cities and Counties Programme

The „owner” of GP: West Region, Irland

Main aim: creating communities where all of inhabitants can enjoy a good quality of life, continuing to participate fully in the life of those communities as we age.

Invitation to participate in the AFP has been sent to all municypalities – members of Association

The first step was

-/ the „owner” of the GP: region Granada, Spain)

-/ The good practice is part of a National Programme in Spain which commenced in 1998 and allows seniors to become cultural guides on a voluntary basis.

-/ The GP is implementing by two institution: the Archaeological Museum and Galeria El

-/ The programm will start in the new buildings of the Museum

Other results

The project also supported a new programme for seniors created by the Federation of Social Organisations (FOSa) in Olsztyn – international exchanges of seniors called Silver Sharing

Several organisations from Spain, Ireland, the Czech Republic, Germany and Croatia are interested cooperating with FOSa on this initiative.
