Tournament Packages Tournament Packages includes:

9-Hole or 18-Hole Greens Fees Power Carts Registration Set-up Professional Power Cart Staging Custom Cart Signs, Rule Sheets and Scorecards Tournament Contest Set-up Official Scoring

Par Package 16-59 players ($50 + tax) $5.00 savings

Birdie Package 60-99 players ($45 + tax /ea) $10.00 savings Eagle Package up to 120 players ($4,500 + tax) up to $1,500 in savings

Course buyout option *additional players up to 144 ($30 + tax) each

Tournament Staring Options Single Tee This option is ideal for small groups (16-40 players). Each foursome will tee off at the first (1st) tee in sequential order. After the first foursome (Group #1) tees off and has completed the second shot, the second foursome (Group #2) tees off next and the third foursome (Group #3) is considered "on deck". The tee times continue until all groups are in play.

Modified Shotgun Best option for groups with 72 to 120 players. The entire tournament will start at the same time. Two (2) foursomes (Groups #1 & #2) will start on each assigned hole. EXAMPLE: a tournament of 80 players would make 20 teams of 4 players. Two teams would start on each hole #1 through #10. The course may attempt to fill the remaining holes #11 through #18 with another group and/or additional players. To allow the required tees for a modified shotgun, the course normally must "shut down" for an extended period to allow for the "starting" holes.

Full-Field Shotgun This option is designed for groups with 120 - 144 players and requires that the full course be used. Two groups start on each hole. All players will start and finish at approximately the same time.

Tournament Formats Best Ball Twosome 2 persons play as a team, taking handicaps as they fall on the card. Lowest score on the hole with handicap counts toward the team's best-ball score for round. Only the lowest score on the hole is counted. Team having the lowest 18-hole score wins.

Best Ball This format may be played as 2, 3, or 4 person teams. Golfers play their own ball on each hole, the lowest score is then recorded to be the team score. This format may be played with or without a handicap. This is usually a fun format with a medium pace of play. Results can be calculated quickly.

Callaway This format allows each golfer to play their own ball out and record the score with no more than double par limit. This format may be used when not all competitors have an official handicap. Allow longer time for play and scoring due to individual format. Under this system, a player's handicap is determined after each round by deducting from his gross score for the 18 holes the scores of the worst individual holes during the first 16 holes of the round.

Scramble This format is probably the most enjoyable type of tournament because only the good shots are played and the pace of play can be very fast. All players hit a tee shot. Then, the best tee shot is selected and all players take their next shot from that point. The process is repeated until the ball is "holed out". The team records a score. The winning team is the one that records the lowest 18-hole score. This format promotes easier and faster scoring.

Shamble This format is also one the more enjoyable types of tournaments because like a scramble you use good shots only for a portion of the hole, but you also get the opportunity to play your own ball. Each person hits a drive; the team selects the best one. From that point each player plays his own ball through the hole. The team records a score. The winning team is the one that records the lowest 18-hole score.

Skins A match play tournament; a "skin" is a point given to the player with the lowest score on a given hole.

Special Events and Contests Raffle Tickets Raffles are a great way to raise additional money at your event. Depending on the prizes that you have received either through purchase or donations will determine whether or not a raffle is necessary. Raffle tickets can be sold anywhere from $5 a piece to 5 for $20. The price for raffle tickets can be determined based on the value of the prizes.

Auctions The most common auctions at golf events are silent auctions. This can be held if there are bigger ticket items available such as vacation getaways, event packages, autographed memorabilia etc. Each item is placed on a table with a bidding sheet in front of the item. After the round participants are encouraged to view the auction items and bid on them. A starting bid is usually set as well as each incremental bid thereafter. At the end of the auction the highest bidder wins the prize.

Mulligans Typically sold before and/or during the round. Mulligans can range from $1 to $100. A mulligan is an extra shot that can be used in place of another shot without a penalty. Some events limit the number of mulligans per player/team. Selling mulligans can be the easiest way to raise additional money for your event.

String Similar to a mulligan, selling of string can add to the excitement of the event. String is typically sold in increments of 10 ft (max 100 ft) and usually sells for $2 per foot. How to use the string? Example: A group is left with a 10 ft putt for birdie. All 4 players putt and miss. Rather than tapping in for par, they can use 10 ft of string and count the putt as a made birdie. Once the string has been used it can not be used again.

Putting Contest This can be conducted a variety of different ways. Typically there is an entry fee into the contest anywhere from $1-$50. This can either be before or after the round of golf. An easy putting contest would be to have those who entered putt from 3-5 feet, those who make the putt advance to a 20 foot putt, those who miss are eliminated. The player putts from 20 feet and a measurement is taken, the player then advances to a 40 or 60 foot putt, another measurement is taken and the 2 measurements are combined for a total score (distance). Player with the lowest distance from the hole wins.

Chipping Contest Similar to the putting contest, each participant pays a fee to enter. An easy format would be to give each player 3 shots from 10-20yds away. A measurement can be taken after each shot for a total distance or the closest ball to the hole can be recorded. This is either held before or after the round.

Closest to the Pin (KP) Prize awarded for the shot that comes to rest closest to the pin; normally played on the par 3’s.

Closest to the Pin on 2nd Shot Prize awarded for the shot that comes to rest closest to the pin; can be played on any hole on the golf course except the par 3’s

Longest Drive A predetermined hole is selected, usually a different hole for both men and women. A marker is placed in the fairway and the winner is the person who hits the longest drive.

Shortest Drive Usually held on the same hole as the longest drive competition, a marker is placed in the fairway and the winner is the individual with the shortest drive.

Straightest Drive A line is painted down the middle of the fairway; the individual closest to the line is the winner.

Longest Putt Either held on the putting green prior to the event or on a pre-determined hole on the golf course. Individual who makes the longest putt is the winner.

Hole-in-one The Hole-in-One is another extremely alluring contest. Hole-in-One insurance is required for large prizes. Insurance is easily obtained through American Hole’n One. The cost varies according to the value of the prize, the difficulty of the shot and the number of players; and typically ranges between $200 to $500 for prizes such as automobiles, trips and large cash prizes. The possibility of winning a car or $10,000 cash always attracts more players.

Celebrity Shot By having a local or national celebrity, golf professional or sports figure in attendance can really boost attendance. If it is a golf professional, you can charge a fee at a selected tee box and he/she can hit a drive as each group comes through. Players in the group can elect to use this drive if they choose.
