Eva Matiszik…. Hungarian born Eva arrived in Bathurst 65 years ago with her mother and sister

as a WW11 displaced migrant child at 9 years of age. She was educated up to 8 years of age in Germany then locally at Bathurst Public, St Josephs, Perthville and Bathurst High Schools.

Eva’s first job was as a trainee Comptometer Operator at California Productions, a clothing and shoe manufacturer in Bathurst. She was married for 56 years to the late Karl Matiszik, a well-known builder and developer in Bathurst and is a proud mother of 4 and grandmother of 6.

As a businesswoman Eva has established and managed a number of businesses in various areas; Motels, Hardware, Building Co-ordinating, Strata and Serviced Apartments, Fashion Boutique and Function Centre. She has invested into Real Estate both in Bathurst and Sydney.

Eva is a supporter of various charities and organizations; a former office holder

of various school P and C Associations, Patron of Early Childhood Intervention Program, member of SBS for Bathurst Committee, Migrant Centre Reunion and Co-ordinator of 50 year Celebrations, Member of Land Care Group and Bathurst Accommodation Group.

As well, Eva is a Breast Cancer Survivor of 12 years. Eva is much travelled both in Australia and overseas. Eva is now semi-retired, but still directing various companies.
