UNITED STATES ARMY TRAINING AND DOCTRINE COMMAND BAND

Second Lieutenant Richard K. Henebry currently serves as the Executive Officer & Associate Conductor of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band. He joined the Army in 2013 and attended Basic Combat Training. After completing Officer Candidate School, he was Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. Upon graduating from the Basic Officer Leader Course at the U.S. Army School of Music, he was assigned to the TRADOC Band in September of 2014.

Prior to entering the Army, he taught band and adjudicated music festivals for international schools in Tokyo, Japan. Previous conducting positions include Assistant Conductor of Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble and Cover Conductor for New Haven Chamber Orchestra. He has performed as bass trombonist with the Eastman Wind Ensemble, Eastman Trombone Choir, Ohio Light Opera, and Brevard Music Festival.

Lieutenant Henebry holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the Eastman School of Music, a Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from Yale University, and earned a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from the New England Conservatory of Music. He won 3rd Place in The American Prize Wind Ensemble Conducting Division in 2012, and he has attended the Cabrillo Festival Conducting Workshop, Beyond the Baton Conducting Seminar, West Point Band Conducting Workshop, and Frederick Fennell Memorial Conducting Workshop.
