PTV Vissim and Sitraffic Office are seamlesslyintegrated, enabling the direct transferof all required data and configurationparameters from Sitraffic Office toPTV Vissim. PTV Vissim is the ideal tool for buildinga sound and conclusive knowledge basis for informed decisions on all kinds of traffic engineering questions. The system has been designed for analyzing and modeling networks of any size and traffic management systems of all types,from individual intersections right up to entire conurbations.

The links and connectors concept ofthe PTV Vissim network topology allows for highest versatility and – in combi-nation with detailed motion models –extremely precise traffic modeling,including pedestrians and their complex interaction with the surroundingtraffic flows.

PTV Vissim can model both motorized and non-motorized traffic flowsFor traffic flow modeling, an unlimited number of vehicle types can be defined in PTV Vissim, including cars, trucks,vehicles equipped with satnavs, busses, tramway and light-rail vehicles and even airplanes. In addition to motorizedmeans of transport, the system can also include pedestrians, cyclists and wheel-chair users in the simulation.

PTV Vissim uses a psycho-physicaldriving-behavior modelFor simulating the movements of thevehicles involved, PTV Vissim uses anevidence-based psycho-physical car-fol-lowing model with a temporal resolution of up to 1/10 seconds. The rule-based lane-change model has been optimized for simulating urban as well as interurban traffic. Driver behavior patterns can be defined on the basis of user-configurable driver-vehicle classes.

PTV Vissim offers different waysof visualizing route choicesWhen working with PTV Vissim, the user has the choice of different options forvisualizing route choices – to perfectly suit the available data sets and thespecific objective of the analysis at hand.

PTV Vissim simulations can includeall types of public transportFor many years now, PTV Vissim has been the software of choice for modeling public transport. For studies on mass transit, the user can specify public trans-port routes, various public transport vehicle types, timetables, stops, stop types and dwell times. Different network analysis options are available. Also for studying various aspects of signal control and multimodal transfer points, PTV Vissim is the ideal planning tool.

User-friendly: The clearly structureduser interface makes it especially easy to

select network objects, backgrounds, overview maps or quick views etc.

The user can open an unlimited number of network and list windows from

the “View” window.

Result lists: The result list automatically displays one result line for each combina-

tion of network object, simulation run and time interval. With a click on the

corresponding button in the tool bar, the list can be easily exported to a text

file or data base.

3D visualizations turn the results ofmultimodal simulations into easy-to-

understand, convincing arguments. Even pedestrian flows including their interaction with other road users canbe simulated and visualized in detail.
