Select the network file (*.inpx) along with the other required files (i.e. signal file,
background file, layout file etc.) and put those into a new folder, i.e.
Example_ScenarioManagement. (See figure)
If you are not copying the files into a new folder, the original network file (*.inpx) will be
always opening in the Scenario management. As a result, you might lose the original
version of your network file.
Please make a copy of your network file in another folder in order to avoid this issue.

1_Example_Mini\Example_ScenarioManagement”.
PTV GROUP Training material
32

• Links
• Parking Lots
• Reduced Speed Areas
• Conflict Areas
• Parking Routing Decisions
3) Click on OK

Modification 3
PTV GROUP Training material
36
1) Add a REDUCED SPEED AREA on the entering connector to the parking area
and define 25: 25 km/h as the desired speed distribution.
2) Add one DESIRED SPEED DECISION on the entering connector (on the middle of
the Reduced Speed Area added on step 1). The Desired Speed distribution
will be again 25 km/h, so that vehicles can have lower desired speed in the
parking area than usual (50 km/h).
3) One more DESIRED SPEED DECISION should be added on the exiting connector
and the desired speed distribution will be 50 km/h, so that vehicles can have
higher speed while exiting the parking area.
4) Solve the CONFLICT AREAS for both entering and exiting connector to and from
the parking area. As you can see on the given figure, Undetermined has been
selected for the branching conflict and the through traffic coming from North
will have priority over the exiting traffic from the parking area.
5) Save the modification.

1. Signal Controlled Junction and
3. Parking Area
8) Add a new scenario 6: “Right of Way + Parking”.
9) Our sixth scenario depends on:
2. Roundabout and
3. Parking Area
Now you can open the scenarios 4 to 6: e.g. Right of Way + Parking will look like this:
Hint for scenario 6:
Roundabout + Parking, you will get a few warning messages as some of the conflict areas
do not exist on the scenario.
