What is it?• The Trainer and Assessment Application (App) has been
designed and is managed by LSV
• In house development allows customisation and flexibility in platform
• The App captures and compiles all Training and Assessment evidence via an online/offline platform
• Only available on IOS devices
• Designated devices have access to the App – not available via App Store or Play Store
• The Trainer and Assessment App is specifically designed to reduce administration burden for Trainers, Assessors & CI’s

What does it do?• The App communicates with existing databases within LSV’s
Student Management System
• Enables device users to access Course participant registrations, add / mark attendance and complete Practical Assessments
• Self-regulates captured evidence
• Uploads all evidence directly to LSV, at the touch of a button.
• Overall the App is a 90% paperless platform

Online / Offline Capability • Courses are linked via Registrations in Member Training from Anywhere and
to Individual devices
• Online - Courses must be downloaded within internet range
• Offline - All Training and Assessing requirements completed within the App –Able to be completed offline
• Offline - App will remind Assessor of any incomplete fields / evidence i.e. Signatures
• Online – Final course upload must be completed within Internet range
• Once uploaded LSV receives notification of course upload and processes accordingly

BM Delegate Process: As per 2016-17 Season • Delegate must hold their Training Officers Skillset and Training Officer
in Bronze Medallion• Be proficient in the award they are assessing• Be familiar with the process of reasonable adjustment• Adhere to the program of skills maintenance requested by the club• Complete any paperwork required accurately and return in a timely
manner

Skills Maintenance Delegate Process – IRB Crew and Driver
• Circular 192:04:17
• Current Assessors who present with a pre-existing medical condition/s are now eligible to apply for an exemption from the physical components of an SLSA award i.e. Run swim Run.
• This exemption allows approved Assessors to continue Assessing SLSA non accredited awards and skills maintenance assessments
• Note each exemption is valid for a period of 12 months and based on a financial year period.
• Applications are only relevant to Volunteer Training assessment activities and not Life Saving Operational duties and or processes.
Award Physical Exemption Process
• A Trainer Supervision Model will be implemented in 2017-18
• Professional Development Opportunity
• This model will require all Trainers every two years in line with Trainer Expiry dates
• Rolled out with the assistance of your Area Training and Assessment Officers and Certificate IV holders within your clubs.
Supervisory Model
• In Season 2017-18 all clubs are required to submit a Training Plan / Outline demonstrating duration of learning and practical time allocated for all awards conducted
• Training Plan templates will be provided and reviewed accordingly

Resources Season 2017-2018
• In 2017-18 it is a requirement for Members to upgrade into the ART (AID) award.
• This award includes – HLTAID007 – Provide Advanced Pulmonary Resuscitation
• To ensure all members hold the current requirement, clubs are encouraged to complete a full ART (AID) assessment
• Skills Maintenance Administration burden will be reduced dramatically as a result
Advanced Resuscitation Techniques Requirements 2017-18
• The Training Package has changed and Transitions on the 5th
October 2017
• In preparation for this date LSV conducted a number of TO, Assessor and Certificate IV courses across the State
• All Trainers / Assessors / Certificate IV Training and Assessment courses have concluded
• New course formats will replace existing courses
• Commencement dates will be communicated
• Will existing Trainers / Assessors / Certificate IV in Training and Assessment require upskilling? Yes, by April 2019 all Assessors and Certificate IV Training and
Assessment holders (only) will require upskilling
Certificate IV Update
• Prior to the commencement of the 2017-18 season, a training and assessment seminar weekend has been scheduled
• The weekend is created by a volunteer working group for the volunteers.
• This Weekend will incorporate all important training and assessment information relevant to chief instructors and trainers and assessors
• This platform will equip all clubs with the tools and understanding of training and assessment requirements prior to the commencement of the season
• This weekend is a great opportunity to network with other club trainers and assessors and learn something new.

Skills Maintenance CPR - HLTAID001• Feedback received regarding the allocation of a Resuscitation
Award /UofC post Bronze Medallion (BM) Skills Maintenance
• Members are not allocate a Resuscitation Award following a BM Skills Maintenance
• Due to insufficient assessment conducted at the time of a Skills Maintenance assessment
• A Briefing Paper submitted to LSOC has been agreed to in principle
• In 2018-19 the implementation for the unit of competence HLTAID001 will be rolled out

– Clubs are encourage to: Upskill current BM assessors into a First Aid Award Offer Members a Resuscitation course separate to Skills

implementation of the Marine Rescue training requirements
