DEPM/OAS and Institute for Access to Public Information Sign Cooperation
Agreement
The Department for Effective Public Management (DEPM) of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Institute for Access to Public Information (IAIP) in El Salvador signed an agreement for cooperation and technical assistance that will strengthen the capabilities of IAIP for compliance with the law on access to public information. The agreement was signed by Ronalth Ochaeta Argueta, Representative of the Office of the General Secretariat of the OAS in El Salvador, and Carlos Adolfo Ortega, President of the IAIP. The technical assistance that the IAIP will receive with this important agreement will focus on thematic areas such as design and organizational development, training on issues of strategic direction, process and quality management, and leadership and teamwork. Also archive management assistance will be addressed. "The collaboration of the Department of Effective Public Management will optimize resources and provide effective responses to the challenges facing the IAIP" said Carlos Adolfo Ortega, President of the IAIP. In accordance with the provisions of the law on access to public information, the IAIP’s main function is to ensure the proper exercise of the right to public information, the protection of personal information and the promotion of a culture of transparency in society and among public servants.
