Brothers,I hope everyone is doing well and is staying safe. If anyone needs assistance with anything (buying groceries, supplies etc) please do not hesitate to reach out! We are a brotherhood and should look out for each other! All masonic activities have now been canceled until June 1st which this includes Grand Lodge Annual Communication. While masonic events may have been canceled, our scholarship committee and the officers of the Lodge have been in contact and chose two individuals to be awarded our annual two 1k scholarships. Congratulations to Christopher Peterson and Lilliy Clemons of Vero Beach Highschool. It should be noted that Lilly Clemons grandfather was a member of our lodge. Usually there is a scholarship night at the high school that the committee attends however due to the coronavirus scholarship night at the high school has been canceled. The lodge will host an awards/recognition night later in the year. We will be hosting a fundraiser in the fall to raise money for next years scholarship applicants. Please do not forget to donate to the lodge’s building fund, every little bit helps!

Nobles,Once again unfortunately due to the coronavirus all masonic activities and appendant body activities have now been suspended until June 1st. Please keep all nobles, their families and especially the staff and patients of the Shrine hospitals in your prayers. Nobles please consider donating $30 dollars to Azan’s Potentate project. The Potentate this year wants to replace all the existing folding chairs with deluxe padded chairs. These chairs are used for all functions include our stated meetings. When you donate to this GREAT project there will be a name plate on the deluxe padded chair which says “donated by or in memory of” in which you get to choose. Noble, Matthew Reuther

Memorial Day
9
Memorial Day (previously but now seldom called Decoration Day) is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the military personnel that had died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday is now observed on the last Monday of May, Memorial Day having been observed on May 30 from 1868 to 1970.
Many people visit cemeteries and memorials on Memorial Day to honor and mourn those who had died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.
Memorial Day is considered the unofficial start of summer in the United States, while Labor Day marks the unofficial start of Autumn on the first Monday of September.
Two other days celebrate those who have served or are serving in the U.S. military: Veterans Day, which honors those who have served in the United States Armed Forces; and Armed Forces Day, an unofficial U.S. holiday (earlier in May) for honoring those currently serving in the armed forces.
