Never fish in exposed areas during
rough seas. Find a more protected,
calmer spot. Always stay alert as
conditions can change quickly
and never turn your back on the sea.
If someone is washed into the
water DONT jump in after them.
You are more help to them on
the shore and remaining calm.
Use rope or look for an available angel
ring, life buoy or something that floats.
Throw it to the person in the water.
Dial 112 on your mobile phone.
Go for help and if possible have
someone watch the location of
the person in the water.
If you are washed in stay calm. Swim away from the rocks and look for a safe place to come ashore or stay afl oat and wait for help.

Wear shoes with non-slip soles or cleats.
Wear light weightclothing. In winterwear a wetsuit.
