Never Stop Challenging

I was fifteen when I decided to go for an adventure from Japan. I have been playing classical guitar since I was three and I had many opportunities to go overseas to Italy, USA and China to attend my competitions and musical festivals. At these competitions I was quite little and most other participants were older than me, they always were very kind and looked after me. However, I always struggled to communicate with them. Yet still, I always wanted to become a world renowned guitarist and I realized that I needed to be fluent in an international language, English if I wanted to be able to communicate with people from all over the world.

I couldn’t have done all of those memorable things if I didn’t study at Trinity Anglican School or if I didn’t get the generous help from staff and students. I’m happy to say proudly, I was so glad that I spent my precious secondary school time at TAS. I am also very thankful for everyone who supported me then and those who still do now.

I am ready for the next level of my adventure to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, United Kingdom to become a globally renowned guitarist and am very much looking forward to my future.

Changed My Life

I came to Cairns three years ago because my father was working in PNG and we had to move and find a school nearby. TAS was recommended by one of my father’s workmates because it is a great school with academic excellence and good facilities.

As soon as I was told about TAS I knew that it would be the greatest challenge and an excellent opportunity for me because I had lived in China for 16 years and seldom travelled overseas.

I spent half of a year completing a High School Preparation Program to learn English which was quite demanding but it was so helpful. When I first went to TAS I found it very difficult to communicate with other students because of my lack of confidence speaking English. Luckily I was helped by teachers and friends with my academic activities in my daily life. My English improved quickly and so did my confidence.

Now it is the third year at TAS for me and I am in the most difficult year - Year 12. I really enjoy studying here and have made a lot of friends from everywhere around the world. TAS is a fabulous stage for me to show myself and meet the world in Cairns.

Besides this, my life is so much more relaxed like never before. I love the fresh air and the blue sky which always keeps me happy. I will leave soon knowing that I am well prepared for a successful future at a University in Australia.
