Mission of the Month – Operation Understanding

Operation Understanding (OU) provides diocesan grants to parishes for outreach ministries that feed, clothe, and provide energy assistance to the

needy. OU also funds programs for disadvantaged children. Grants are made possible through churches and parishioners who contribute through

the Al leluia Appeal which takes place during the Eastert ide season.

Renewal of Clergy Vows wil l be held on Thursday, April 11 at 11 am at Trinity. The service wil l be followed by a luncheon in the Parish Hall .

Palm Sunday—We will hold an Outdoor Processional on April 14 with Covenant Centra l Presbyterian on West Fourth Street at 10 am. Following the procession (with singing, scripture and palm branches), services wil l continue inside the churches . Bishop Audrey Scanlan wil l preside.

Easter Lilies—On Easter Sunday each year we surround the altar in the Main Church with Easter Lil ies. If you would l ike to give a gift in memory or thanksgiving, please return the Easter Li ly envelope found in the Library Area or outside the Chapel by April 14 . Names wil l be l isted in the Easter Sunday bul letin.

A Seder Meal wil l be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran on Wednesday, April 17 at 6:15 pm. All are welcome. Call 570-323-4619 or email stmarks@stmarkswil l iamsport.org if you plan to attend.

Kyle Murphy ’s Ordination to the Diaconate wil l be held at Trinity on Friday, May 3 at 6 pm.

Calling all Golfers! The Bishop’s Open wil l be held on Monday, May 13 at Mountain View Country Club in State College. All proceeds wil l go to organizations that fight addiction.

Trinity’s Yard Sale wil l be held on Saturday, May 18 in the Parish Hall . Help is needed May 6 -10 and May 11-17 from 9-11 am each day to sort, price and set up, and from 7:30 am -2 pm the day of the sale.

BISHOP OUT OF THE BOX

At Christ Episcopal Church

The West Branch Convocation is invited to assemble Blessing Bags for the Saving Grace Women’s Shelter and the American Rescue Workers Men’s Shelter.

Personal care items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, soap,

washcloths, hand towels and socks are greatly appreciated by the shelter. These items wil l be gathered and assembled into homemade Blessing Bags . Hand-written blessing notes wi l l be written by helpers to be included in the bags.

All are invited to then walk over to the Am erican Rescue Workers Shelter for lunch with the recipients of the bags. This time of food and fe llowship is a blessing to al l . Tours of both the men’s and women’s shelters in Williamsport wi l l follow lunch.

Twin sheet sets are needed by both shelters. As the residents of the shelters move into permanent housing, they take the sheets from their beds with them. Any donations are greatly appreciated.

All are welcome to attend the entire day, or any part of the day, as avai lable.
