HEARING IMPAIRED
Pocket-sized receivers with ear buds are available to be checked out
during the Worship Service from the sound booth at the rear of the
sanctuary.
ELDER INVITATION
Following morning worship, the elders will be available to members
and guests for prayer and ministry. Simply come to the front of the
sanctuary where we will be glad to: pray for your personal needs, lead
you in receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior, discuss church
membership.
December 28, 2014
ESPECIALLY FOR OUR GUESTS
We are glad to have you worship with us today. You
are worshiping with people who experience the
same difficulties of life as you. We have nothing to
boast about except the God we worship. Please relax
and focus upon the Lord Jesus who loves you and
desires for you to follow Him. While God has surely
led you here, you likely still have a number of im-
portant questions about us; how to get more involved and connected in
meaningful relationships or about your own personal or spiritual needs.
If so, please allow us to help you by completing the guest registration
inside the back cover or by coming forward during the invitation time.

WILBERFORCE INITIATIVE The Wilberforce Initiative is a
ministry of TBC that helps equip
believers on cultural and current
issues from a biblical perspective.
We address many topics including:
the family, pro-life, marriage, race,
science, religious liberty, and
many others. Check us out regu-
larly at wilberforceinitiative.org If
you have any questions please
visit with Ryan Polk or Curtis
Winkle.
THE ACADEMY
The Academy is a training minis-
try that tries to give believers a
well rounded biblical foundation
in several key areas of the Chris-
tian life. This is accomplished in
monthly meetings through reading
one book a month, presentations,
interaction with TBC staff and
elders, and discussion, all with the
goal of trying to use what we are
learning to help others know
Christ better. This is a challenging
but rewarding equipping oppor-
tunity that nearly 75 members of
TBC have already participated in.
If you are interested or have ques-
tions please talk to Ryan Polk.
The 2015 Academy group will be
determined by mid December and
the first meeting will be mid Janu-
ary 2015.
The FOOD PANTRY will be
closed December 31. It will
reopen January 7.
Don’t forget to pass
out your cards!

Monday nights, January 19– March 2, 6:15 p.m.—8:30 p.m.

Why Do You Believe That?
Author Mary Jo Sharp is a former atheist from the Pacific North-
west, who thought religion was for the weak-minded. She is
now a Christian author and apologist. She holds a Masters in
Christian Apologetics from Biola University and is the first
woman to become a Certified Apologetics Instructor through the
North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Conven-
tion. Mary Jo is a clear communicator with a heart for people,
and she finds great joy in sharing the deep truths of her Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ.
How confident do you feel in talking about matters of faith? Do
you wish you could express your beliefs with more effectiveness? Join us in a practi-
cal seven-session study and gain understanding and skills to share Jesus effectively
with others. You will also understand your own faith better. Answer your doubts,
build your confidence, and start changing lives. Do not be afraid to ask, “Why do I
believe that?”
Tuesday mornings, January 20--March 3, 9:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m.
Led by Gina Rogers
COLD-CASE CHRISTIANITY
You can believe because of the evidence, not in spite of it.
Christianity could be defined as a “cold case”: It makes a claim
about an event from the distant past for which there is little foren-
sic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses
his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at
the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Includ-
ing gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he
developed in the courtroom, he uses illustration to examine the
powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity. The historic truth claims
of Christianity are under attack from every direction. If ever there was a time to study
the case for the eyewitness reliability of the gospels, the time is now.
“Jim Wallace was an angry atheist for many years. Today, he is one of the most
thoughtful and winsome apologists for the gospel I know. Cold-Case Christianity is
packed with insights to share with skeptics and will give you the confidence to share
them.” Dr. Rick Warren, author of The Purpose Driven Life.
This is a 7-week study which will include two 50-minute videos from Cold-Case Res-
urrection.

Ephesians— The Church: Rooted in Love, Walking in Power
Chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world, targeted by
grace, sons of God united in a single family, inheritors, holy, re-
deemed, forgiven, raised from the dead and seated with Jesus Christ
in the heavenlies! How can you not study Ephesians?!
Before Paul even hints at how believers should live, he lays a rock-
solid foundation: who we are in Christ! If you think you’re just a
cog in a machine, if you don’t know your true identity, then this
study is for you. Praise God for what He planned in eternity past and is waiting to
reveal to you now...through the study of His Word. Learn who and what you are in
Christ, and you’ll want to walk God’s ways the rest of your life.
Precept Upon Precept Bible Studies provide a way to study the Bible in a focused,
verse-by-verse manner. Precepts uses inductive study, which involves seeing truth
for yourself, discerning what it means, and applying the truth to your life.
Tuesday mornings, February 3—March 24, 9:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m.
Led by Nancy Peavler
Gideon: Your Weakness. God’s Strength.
Gideon’s story is so much bigger than any one man and his mark
on Israel’s history. Like everything else in the Bible, this is a
story about God and His people, His love for them, as well as
His strength operating in spite of their weakness, even through
their weakness. And because God’s people includes you and
me, Gideon’s story is also about OUR lives, doubts, struggles,
and our possibilities as believers. From a state of fear, weak-
ness, and insecurity, Gideon emerged as Israel’s hero, filled with
God’s presence and passion for deliverance. This study will
encourage you to recognize your weakness as the key that the
Lord gives you to unlock the full experience of His strength in your life.
What lies ahead in your journey is not nearly as critical as where you are right now.
Wherever you are now is where you are meant to serve now. These innermost circles
are often the ones that offer the least amount of recognition. This is why so many peo-
ple try to circumvent them. Yet your greatest impact will be done here, in the ordi-
nary rhythms of your daily living.

MISSIONS MINISTRY UPDATES
Dagan and Krista Flowers are
with Student Mobilization
(StuMo for short) and work on
the OU campus with sororities
and fraternities. Some 129 OU
student leaders have signed up for
the Winter Conference at the Cox
Convention Center in OKC. They
are expecting 2300 students from
many campuses. Everyone will
attend six main sessions and their
choice of four workshops, each
challenging them in different
aspects of their relationship with
God. Please pray that these stu-
dents will impact their campuses
for Christ when they return.
Neil and Sommer B. left from
Norman December 26th to serve
in Italy.
Jason, Jennifer and their seven
children will be leaving Norman
January 9th and driving to Virgin-
ia for IMB training. They plan to
leave for their new country di-
rectly from Virginia so they can
be at a meeting with co-workers.
Several concerns need to be ad-
dressed for their new country’s
government to open its door to
them.

his follow-up team from Antioch
House Church. They recently

Long and Jim Han Dong discov-
