Definition - What is it?
Trustworthiness is having one’s action consistent with what one says.
Is the congruence between what one is thinking and feeling and what one is saying and doing.
It includes communicating intentions, ideas and feelings openly and directly and welcoming openness and honesty even in difficult situations with multiple parties involved.
To maintain integrity and take responsibility for personal performance.
To act ethically and build trust through reliability and authenticity.

Trustworthiness Behaviors
People who demonstrate this competence
Act in line with beliefs and values even when it is difficult to do so
Build trust Take responsibility for personal
performance Are authentic
Admit their mistakes Confront unethical actions in others
People who do NOT demonstrate this competence
Have a difficult time sorting out their own feelings and opinions independent
of immediate influences Do what is most expedient rather than
what is right Present their views in such broad and
ambiguous terms that no one can reasonably object
Show little independence of thought Have more difficulty staying focused
on long-term strategic goals, responding instead just to the needs of the moment
