A Message from Murielle, the Executive Director Have you ever noticed how food markets and cafés go pumpkin-crazy in November? It starts in the previous month when peopleare decorating for Halloween, and continues right up through thatlast creamy bite of pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. And yes, that’son our CityView Thanksgiving lunch menu!
You can go ahead and enjoy dessert, knowing you plan to jointhe Walking Club after lunch, and most likely will attendMorning Workout on Friday and Saturday at 10:30am. You can
even work up an appetite exercising with Phyllis that very morning.
The other flavor dominating the season is apple, as these diverse fruits ripen and drop from thetree. Some of us treasure happy childhood memories of apple picking with our families, and ifwe were lucky, those outings were followed by weeks of homemade apple pie, apple crumbleand applesauce. Maybe you even remember this linked YouTube Disney apple cartoon: Pleasejoin us on the rooftop for a hot apple cider social November 16 and start making new applememories.
As much as we look forward to Thanksgiving dinner, the holiday is really about somethingmuch more important: giving thanks. As a wise person named G. B. Stern once said, “Silentgratitude isn’t much use to anyone.” So please join us in the Creative Zone to make your ownholiday cards. We’ll supply the materials, you bring your vision and sentiments. Let peopleknow you care!
We’re not keeping quiet about our gratitude. Our thanks in this season go particularly to ourwonderful residents, who make CityView a great place to live. Without you, we would have noreason for being. So thanks to you all and have a very Happy (and delicious) Thanksgiving!
Warmly, Murielle Chocron, Executive Director
