Welcome to the 12th Annual Sale of the Year. On behalf of ourselves at Justamere, we would like to thank you for your interest in our program and the continued success of it. Our consignors again this year are the great people from Bandura Ranches, Joe and Sandy Bandura and Family, also the team at Express Ranches have sent another 25 awesome cattle for your perusal. Folks, the industry has gotten so good so fast it has been a little hard to take it all in, believe it and begin to rebuild and prosper from all of our collective hard work. With record low inventories across North America and record high demand, the cow/calf sector is in for a very profitable next few years. Obviously it is what we all need to catch up after the troubles caused by BSE and other world situations beyond our control. This leaves us as seed stock producers, in a very good position but also in a position of change for the entire industry. We have become the leaders in the industry from securing the right genetics to building the correct partnerships with the packing and feedlot industries so that we can stay out in front of this ever changing, evolving business, with the large consolidation of numbers of cattle being owned by corporate farms and ranches. We have to be able to fill that need. At Justamere we see a great future in the Angus seed stock business as we move to the next generation of DNA, ultrasound and EPD profiles that are becoming highly accurate and profitable for those who choose to use the technology. The sale offering this year is, in my opinion, the strongest to date. The powerful herd sire prospects are right on the money, offering outcross potential to today’s programs as well as solid information genetically and pedigree wise. We believe in showing at Justamere and Express, will be exhibiting many of these cattle across Canada this fall as well as Denver in 2012. The show heifer offering is a sale highlight. These individuals are the cream of the crop here at Justamere as well as Bandura Ranches. They will exhibit well and go on to be breed leading females in the future. With Express Junior Scholarship program, juniors have a unique opportunity to invest in a female, do the work and reap monetary rewards towards their College and University careers. Mr. Bob Funk and Jarold Callahan have created a great program that has successfully awarded close to 3 million towards juniors across North America. Here is an extremely long bodied, fancy female that’s got show heifer written all over her. She is out of a great regulator female I purchased from Justamere a few years back, that has been a very consistent, well producing cow. The Grand Dam of this heifer, RR Envious Blackbird 9982, was flushed by Justamere with a lot of success and still walks the pastures at Justamere. The top side of the pedigree speaks for itself, coming from Express and out of the very popular EXAR Spartan 6225. This calf has been a stand out at my place since she was born and I would like to show her this fall.
