Long Weekend Bowling Club NewsWith the fine weather there was plentyof activity at the Bowling Club over thelast week. On Tuesday and Wednesday the ladies hosted theSouth West District Ladies Triples. OnThursday the local ladies played aClub Championship pairs match, whileon Saturday a ladies single Championship match was played alongwith the semi-final of the mens pairs Championship was decided. Results ofall matches were as follows;
Saturday Semi-final Mens PairsTom Apps & Rod Cooper defeatedTerry Ricketts & Jesse James 19/14Tom and Rod won their way to the finalof the Club Championship pairs Championship with a hard fought winover Terry & Jesse.Although Tom & Rod led from the
start to finish there was only a coupleof shots separating the two teamsthroughout the match and it was onlyover the last couple of ends where Tom& Rod were able to get away with thematch.Tom & Rod will now play Peter Burns
& Warren Chesworth in the final, whichwill probably be played Saturday 21June along with the final of the minors
pairs in which Neil Solomon & PaulBreeze will play Shane McKellar &Reuben Roycroft.

Thursday Ladies Club Pairs Championship.Robyn Apps & Pauline Maynard defeated Kelley Daley & Chris Han-cock 20/16Robyn & Pauline came back from thedead to win this one. Kelly & Chris hadplayed great bowls to get a seven shotlead of 16/9. With only four ends toplay they looked home and hosed but itwas not to be as Robyn & Pauline suddenly found some form to stormhome, winning those four ends pickingup eleven shots to go on to a very
good win. Saturday Ladies Singles Championship.Joan Clark defeated Jenny Ricketts25/18.A very good match between twoof our top lady bowlers. Joan took theearly lead and maintained it to the finish. Jenny was always within strikingdistance but was not quite able to runJoan down. A good effort from bothladies who both played very well.
