1.    Go  to  www.twitter.com  (Red  Arrow)  2.    Click  the  ‘Sign  Up’  Button  (Green  Arrow)      

   1.    Type  in  your  full  name  (Red  Arrow)  2.    Type  in  your  desired  username  (Yellow  Arrow)  3.    Create  a  unique  password  (Green  Arrow)  4.    Enter  your  email  address.  Twitter  will  send  you  an  email  to  confirm  your  account.  (Blue  Arrow)  5.    The  check-­‐boxes  are  optional,  you  can  choose  to  uncheck  them.  (Pink  Arrows)  6.    Click  ‘Create  my  account’  (Black  Arrow)    

 

 

1.  Click  on  ‘Next  Step:  Friends’  (red  arrow)      

   1.  Click  ‘Skip  Import’  (red  arrow)  

 

 

1.  Now  we  will  search  for  and  follow  the  church’s  account.  In  the  search  box  (red  arrow)  type  in  ‘smsjchurch’  2.  Click  on  search.  

 

   1.  The  church’s  account  will  be  there  –  click  on  “Follow”  (red  arrow)  

 

1.  We  will  now  enable  text  messages  for  twitter  2.  Click  on  “Mobile”  at  the  bottom  right  (red  arrow)  

 

 

1.  Click  on  “Activate  your  phone”  (red  arrow)  

 

 

1.  Change  the  country  to  Canada  (red  arrow)  2.  Enter  your  cell  phone  number  (Yellow  arrow)  3.  The  check-­‐box  under  the  phone  number  is  optional  (purple  arrow)  –  you  can  uncheck  it  4.  Make  sure  the  language  is  set  to  “English”  (green  arrow)  5.  Click  on  ‘Start’  (blue  arrow)  

 

 

1.You  now  need  to  send  a  text  message  from  your  phone.  Send  the  word  that  they  ask  for  (here  it  asks  for  ‘Go’)  to  the  number  that  they  ask  for  (here  they  ask  for  40404  as  the  phone  number)  

2.Twitter  will  then  reply  to  your  text  message  saying  “Your  phone  is  verified…”  3.  Reply  to  their  text  with  the  words  “Follow  smsjchurch”  

 

YOU  ARE  DONE!!    You  will  now  receive  all  of  the  church  announcements  on  your  mobile  phone  via  text  message.
