Relieve Poverty Through Education

Triangle Youth Foundation of Alberta

What started out as feeding the hungry, ended up as feeding potential.

Our story began with a simple desire to make a difference. We partnered with an inner city school to help families in need and our eyes were opened to just how many of our youth with meager means have such great promise.

As we learned about some of the individual stories, our involvement grew. We wanted to help these kids with such great potential make the most of their future. Where we saw a need, we put our ideas and pocketbooks forward. The individual stories, meeting families, and seeing progress fueled our passion for positively impacting the lives of young people and facilitating their educational future through a customized support system.

Each student we help has a unique set of challenges. As such, it is important to us that the assistance we provide is customized to each individual.

“Relieve Poverty Through Education” became our goal and in January 2010, Triangle Youth Foundation of Alberta received charitable status.

OUR STORY

Our success lies in making a difference by enhancing lives. Words from a student we assisted demonstrate the positive impact we’ve made. “If you would have asked me two years ago what I’d be doing with my life now, I would have had just as many dreams, but with no idea how I could possibly obtain them. I definitely remember feeling lost back then, with no real hope of ever capturing my lifelong goals and dreams. But literally all of that changed when I met you guys.”

We help students by providing:

• TutoringandpreparationforDiploma Exams in Grade 12• Theopportunityforpost-secondary education with either partial or full scholarships to students who have graduatedwithaGrade12Diploma• Assistancewithsportingequipment, registrations (including travel) or clothing required for sporting activities• Breakfastand/orlunchesinschool cafeterias or food vouchers• Theopportunitytoenjoyandbenefit from outdoor, sports camps or various other camps
