PARKING INFORMATION

Parking is extremely limited during Homecoming weekend. If you are planning to attend events on campus, we offer reserved prepaid parking for $10 per day. If you purchase parking, you will receive an exit validation card at the first reunion event you attend.

RESERVATION CONFIRMATIONS

All registrants will receive a phone confirmation upon receipt of your reservation. Shortly before Homecoming, we will mail you a written confirmation of selected activities and parking, including maps of campus.

Celebrate with the Student Alumni Ambassadors to kick off Homecoming week festivities. Enjoy free food and refreshments with Wilbur and Wilma, the Pride of Arizona Marching Band and UA cheerleaders.

THURSDAY, OCT. 26

Experience behind-the-scenes tours of unique campus locations. Space is limited; pre-registration is required.

�1 p.m. tour — UA Museum of Art curator’s tour Bus departs at 1 p.m. University of Arizona Museum of Art Building 2 lobby, 1031 N. Olive Road

Discover the history of the museum when you were a student at the UA. And, learn about the museum’s current activities, partnerships and student-curated exhibitions.

�1 p.m. tour — Arizona State Museum curator-led behind-the-scenes tour Walk over to the museum at 1 p.m. 1013 E. University Blvd.

View stunning examples of the museum’s incomparable collections of Southwest Indian pottery and American Indian basketry.

�1:30 p.m. tour — UA Libraries and Special Collections Walk over to Special Collections at 1:30 p.m. 1510 E. University Blvd.

Enjoy a special tour of UA Libraries and Special Collections.

Interact with high-tech equipment UA Libraries makes available to today’s students. Travel back in time at Special Collections. There will be yearbooks and other mementos from your years at UA as well as an exhibit commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

�4 p.m. — Heritage & Traditions lecture: “Who’s Rufus Anyhow? Why Silver & Sage?” Catalina Room Student Union, Level 3

Join James A. Knight, professor emeritus in the UA College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, as he helps us celebrate UA heritage and traditions, old and new, including the new U.S.S. Arizona memorial on campus.

�5 p.m. — Silver & Sage Society champagne reception and dinner Catalina Room Student Union, Level 3

Reminisce about your time on campus with classmates, friends and other members of the Silver & Sage Society, a treasured group of alumni who have graduated 50 or more years ago. The class of 1967 will formally be inducted into the society. Price includes your choice of champagne, wine and hors d’oeuvres followed by dinner. $45/person.

�6:30 p.m. — Silver & Sage class reunion dinner Arizona Room Student Union, Level 3

Continue the celebration with an elegant buffet-style dinner. Dinner is included in $45 reception fee. A cash bar will be available.

�12:30 p.m. — UA Alumni Association 120th Anniversary Lunch North Ballroom Student Union, Level 3

This year, the Alumni Association celebrates 120 years of building alumni communities around the world. We will honor the classes of 1957 and 1967 reunion attendees and the Alumni of the Year Award winners. Includes entertainment and special seating for the class of 1957. $35/person

�2 p.m. — Class photo Old Main — west side, near Berger Memorial Fountain

After lunch, gather on the west steps of Old Main for our class photo. Please be prompt and don’t forget to wear red!

�5 p.m. — Bear Down Friday Pep Rally Main Gate Square University Boulevard, west of Park Avenue

The pep rally will feature the Pride of Arizona marching band, Wilbur and Wilma, UA cheerleaders, the pom squad and twirlers. Enjoy drink and happy hour specials at select restaurants on University Boulevard.

�5 p.m. — Class of 1957 Fiesta at the home of Burt ’57 and Nancy Kinerk The address and directions will be given to those who RSVP.

Burt and his wife Nancy, along with the class of 1957 reunion committee, invite all members of the class to a fiesta at the Kinerk residence to catch up with classmates and enjoy dinner and entertainment. $50/person.

�7:30 p.m. — Homecoming Bonfire and crowning of the 2017 Homecoming king and queen West side of Old Main

Celebrate tradition with alumni, UA students, the Pride of Arizona and the 2017 Homecoming court at the annual bonfire and pep rally.

SATURDAY, OCT. 28

�11 a.m. — Flandrau Science Center & Planetarium lecture: “Astro 101: Yesterday and Today” Experience first-hand how we teach introductory astronomy to today’s students using cutting-edge FullDome digital technology.

The following times are dependent on the football game’s kickoff time, which will be announced approximately two weeks before Homecoming.

�TBA — Wildcat for Life Tailgate Party UA Mall University Boulevard, west of Cherry Avenue

Take in the camaraderie and pregame activities at the Wildcat for Life Tailgate Party. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. There will be a reserved area for the class of 1957.

�TBA — Arizona vs. Washington State football game A block of tickets has been reserved on the west side of Arizona Stadium.

Wrap up the memorable Homecoming weekend with your fellow classmates. Enjoy an all American breakfast buffet. Hear remarks from Terry L. Hund, dean of The Honors College, and recipients of the Class of 1957 Endowed Scholarship. Price $25/person.

�Alumni Campus Tour Presented by the Office of Admissions

Tours will be offered at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23–Friday, Oct. 27, and at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Old Main, lower level 1200 E. University Blvd.

Tour the campus, led by current students, and fall in love with the University of Arizona all over again. This is a 90-minute walking tour through the heart of campus, starting and ending at historic Old Main.

�Mirror Lab Tour at Richard F. Caris Mirror Lab Presented by the College of Science and Steward Observatory

10 a.m. and 1 p.m. 527 National Championship Dr. (east side of the football stadium)

This tour provides a unique opportunity to learn how innovative engineering and optical technology melds

�Lecture: The Value of a Humanities Education in a Science Career Presented by the College of Humanities

Professor Dante Lauretta will discuss his education at the University of Arizona and how he was able to apply his humanities degree to establish a cross-cultural exchange program and engage his Japanese colleagues in a productive collaboration during his career of planetary exploration, ultimately leading a NASA mission. • Picture This: Basketry in Native American Life A selection of 11 paintings highlighting the role of basketry in Native American daily and ceremonial life.

• Woven through Time: American Treasures of Native Basketry and Fiber Art This new permanent exhibit celebrates the region’s ancient and abiding fiber-weaving traditions by featuring millennia-old objects to modern-day masterpieces.

• The Pottery Project Approximately 500 examples illustrate 2,000 years of pottery-making traditions in the U.S. Southwest and northern Mexico.

• Paths of Life: American Indians of the Southwest Explore the origins, histories, and contemporary lifeways of 10 Native American culture groups from northern Mexico to northern Arizona.
