TOPIC: The parts of the body

TIMING: From 18 november to 2 december

OBJECTIVES• To understand orally the parts of the body vocabulary and messages

• To speak using the parts of the body vocabulary and messages

• To be familiarized with the English speaking countries’ culture (festivities/literature...)

• To use English and the ICTs to learn about the parts of the body

BLOCKS OF CONTENTS1. Listen, talk and converse

Listening: it will be teach with songs.

Spoken production: Making the children say some parts of he body.

Spoken interaction: Making the children talk with between them in some activities.

2. Approximation to written language

Pre-reading :Making the children will read some words in the blackboard.

Pre-writing: Making the children joing letters.

3. Approximation to literature

I´m going to work approximation to literature with a English song about the parts of the body.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

• I´m going to evaluate the objectives, the lingüistics contents and the values

through direct observation of students.I will know that they are learning with thethird activity of each session.

SESSION 1: LISTENING

ACTIVITY 1: Presentation

Activity: What is this?

Detailed description of the activity: With this activity I explain the vocabularywith flash cards and then I repeat it sometimes. The children will have littlecards. Later, I wil say:´´ I have a mouth`` or ´´ I have two ears´´, so that thechildren have to show me with the little cards what is the correct body part.

Material needed:

– The teacher: Flash cards to show the parts of the body to the children.

– The children: They need little cards.

Grouping: All the class work and participate.

ACTIVITY 2: Practice:

Activity: This is me ! (song)

Detailed description of the activity: In this activity the children will listen to thesong one time and then I put the video of the song. Later they have to imitatethe movements of the song.

Material needed:

– The teacher: Computer, projector, screem, the link of the song(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkHQ0CYwjaI)

– The children: they don´t need any material but they have to dance withthe song

ACTIVITY 3: Production:

Activity: Toutch me !

Detailed description of the activity: With this activity the children have tobring from house a fluffy toy.Then I say : The head, the feet or something elseand the children have to touch the correct part of their fluffly toy

Material needed: The children need a fluffy toy that they bring from house, hecan be their favourite toy.

SESSION 2: SPEAKING

ACTIVITY 1: Presentation

Activity: Which part of the body is missing?

Detailed description of the activity: In this activity, I will show to the children aflash card of Dora. Later I will show again the flash card of Dora, but this time inthe drawing will miss a part of the body of Dora. The children will have to guesswhich part is missing.

Material needed: The teacher need flash cars about Dora

Grouping:Lockstep

ACTIVITY 2: Practice:

Activity: Say to me the part of the body

Detailed description of the activity: The children will do groups of three. Oneof them will put a bracelet in a part of the body that we work previously.Theother child will have to guess which is the part of the body that takes thebracelet.

Material needed: Every group needs a bracelet.

Grouping: Groups of three.

ACTIVITY 3: Production:

Activity: Find the couple

Detailed description of the activity:This game consist of searching couples.The children will have a kind of puzzle with images of the parts of the body.They have to choose one pieze and say the name of the image, then they willhave to choose other image and say his name again. If the images not are thesame, they have to choose other different for find the correct couple.

Material needed: A puzzle with images of the parts of the body.

Grouping: In groups of two.

SESSION 3: PRE-READING

ACTIVITY 1: Presentation

Activity: Listen and repeat

Detailed description of the activity: In this time, the teacher will present thevocabulary again but with the parts of the body´s name. The Teacher says eachname one by one and the children will have to repeat.

Material needed: Flash cards about the body.

Grouping: Lockstep

ACTIVITY 2: Practice:

Activity: Say to me the name.

Detailed description of the activity: The children will be sitting on the floor alltogether but one of them will be font of they. This children will point a finger on apart of his body, so the rest of the class will have to show with a flashcard thename of the correct part.

Material needed: Flash cards with the parts of the body´s name

ACTIVITY 3: Production:

Activity: Cut the parts of the body

Detailed description of the activity: In this activity, the children will have aworksheet. They will have to cut the parts and place them in the face

Material needed: worksheet

SESSION 4: PRE-WRITING

ACTIVITY 1: Presentation

Activity: Make words

Detailed description of the activity: the children will be in groups of four. Theywill have some flashcards with letters, so they have join the letters to form aword.

Material needed: flash cards with letter

Grouping: in groups of four

ACTIVITY 2: Practice:

Activity: Hangman

Detailed description of the activity: one children will think in one word of thevocabulary , then the rest of the children will start to say letters. The childrenwho will be in the blackboard will have to write the corrects letters that hisclassmates say.

Material needed: blackboard

ACTIVITY 3: Production:

Activity: how many parts do you have?

Detailed description of the activity: Children will have a worksheet withdifferens parts of the body. The children will have to paint one or two spaces, itdepends if we have one or two parts of the body and put the name of each part.

Material needed: worksheet

SESSION 5: STATIONS

STATION 1:

Activity: Let´s do a mask !

Detailed description of the activity: In this station the children will do a mask.The will cut a big circle and then they can make the parts of the face with playdough.

Material needed: the children will need a cardboard, a scissor and play doughof diferents colours.

Grouping: individual activity

STATION 2:

Activity: Let´s make a big body!

Detailed description of the activity: In this station the children will be ingroups of six. They will make a big body. For this, they will have to draw thedifferents parts of the body, then they will have to paint aand cut it . Finally, theteacher will help them for glue the body on the wall.

Material needed:

-The teacher will need some adhesive for glue the body.

- The children will need cardboards , colours and scissors.

Grouping: all the class work. The children will be in groups of six.

STATION 3:

Activity: This is my monster

Detailed description of the activity: In this last activity, the children will workthe creativity. They will make a monster, so they can put in this just the parts ofthe body that they want, for example, they can put three eyes, four legs...

Material needed: the children will need a sheet of paper and colours

Grouping: individual activity
