Relationship - a connection, association, or involvement between people.

Role Relationship - the way you interact with people in terms of the role you are playing

What are some of your role relationships?

family parent - child

provider, respect, sharing

brother - sister

sharing, support, friend

aunt - niece respect, support

a. Primary relationships are with immediate family & close friends

b. There is rewards on both sides

c. These people are part of our every day lives

a. Secondary relationships are with friends & acquaintances

b. You seldom see these people, unless you have to (at work or in school)

c. You do not feel especially close to them

FOUR relationship purposes

The different people we have relationships with fill different

needs within our lives. The following are 4 basic purposes

to our relationships:

1. Meet basic emotional needs

(love, respect, security)2. A Satisfy need for acceptance,

approval, recognition....3. = Satisfy need for sharing
