Following the disruption of an alleged August 2006 plot by British South Asian Muslims to blow up planes flying to the U.S., some American Muslims of Iraqi descent returning to the U.S. from overseas reported that, upon landing in N.Y., federal agents took their American passports; held them for several hours without food or water or chairs; asked them if they ever had weapons training and what they thought about the Iraq war; and yelled at them and threatened to arrest them when they complained about the way they were being treated.

There are verses in the Qur’an instructing Muslims to use force in some circumstances. Along with being a religious and

political leader, Prophet Muhammad . Muslims have argued that Islam requires fighting when Muslims are physically attacked, or when Muslims are prevented from practicing

Islam, or when Muslims are prevented from teaching others about Islam.

“We have watched America attack us, destroy us, impose embargoes against our nations and then conquer our lands, imprison our people and generally deal with us as though we are savage animals whereby every single law be it international or even American is totally disregarded when it concerns the rights of Arab and Muslim individuals. Then they ask us why we hate them? Tell me why do you hate us? What terrible crime have the Muslims committed against you in the past to deserve your interminable enmity? What have we done to see you rampage through our lands destroying and killing, then claiming obscenely that it was worth it for the sake of liberty and democracy?”

— Reem Al-Faisal is a Saudi photographer and writer based in Jeddah.

The United States has killed nearly 30 Muslims for every American lost.

I believe that when a culture of people are willing to kill themselves for a cause, it is not due to a whim or a complex thought. People willing to go this far as to strap a bomb to their bodies and to maintain that mentality for long periods of time in order to organize an attack and carry it out have got more of a grudge than a mere jealousy or shallow hatred of success. I believe that some were within their hearts they feel that they have been violated in some sort of way.

As I begin to search out these to cultures I found that the Arabs as well as the Muslim cultures are past hatred with the United States. I remember reading were the ex-president of the United States went over to some sort of press conference and had a shoe thrown at him. Over in Iraq, An Iraqi journalist was wrestled to the floor by security guards after he called Mr. Bush "a dog" and threw his footwear, just missing the president. I thought that this was a strange thing to happen, to the president!!!!

In the middle of the news conference with Mr Maliki, Iraqi television journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi stood up and shouted "this is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog," before hurling a shoe at Mr Bush which narrowly missed him (Abadinsky, 2003).

"This is for the widows and orphans and all those killed in Iraq."

Symbolic

“Correspondents said the attack was symbolic. Iraqis threw shoes and used them to beat Saddam Hussein's statue after his overthrow. “

People don't sacrifice themselves for no reason. Let's find out what it is. And if we did something wrong (no doubt we did) let's apologize, ask for forgiveness, and then ask how we can do better."”Jeff Kandt (2001)Islam was founded in the cities of Mecca and Medina, in what is now Saudi Arabia. Thus the early followers of Islam were Arabs, and the Quran was revealed in Arabic. However, not all Arabs are Muslims, just as not all Muslims are Arabs.

Arabs only make a small part of the Muslim population. A great many Muslims come from Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, China, Russia, Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Albania, North Africa & Eastern Europe.

The US is viewed negatively in virtually all Muslim countries. In a multi-country poll that was just done for the BBC, found that in all

Muslim countries polled, majorities said that the US is having a mostly negative influence in the world and that the US military

presence in the Middle East provokes more conflict than it prevents.

Religion And Culture Religion influences ethics and morality

in everyday life. A person who practice in the religion of their choice can testify about the different decisions and crossroads they encounter that are reflection of their religion. So since these people are a participant in culture, their actions and reasoning also contributes to culture and shape the image that it is today (Wood, 2007).

CULTURE CAN BE CONSIDERED AS THE ENTIRE SOCIAL HERITAGE OF MAN; SPECIFICALLY, IT IS THE TRADITION OF A PARTICULAR HUMAN GROUP, A WAY OF LIVING LEARNED FROM, AND SHARED BY, THE MEMBERS OF THAT GROUP. UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF CULTURE IS KEY TO UNDERSTANDING HUMAN BEHAVIOR ().RELIGION, LIKE CULTURE ITSELF, CONSISTS OF SYSTEMATIC PATTERNS OF BELIEFS, VALUES, AND BEHAVIOR, ACQUIRED BY PEOPLE AS A MEMBER OF THEIR SOCIETY. THESE PATTERNS ARE SYSTEMATIC BECAUSE THEIR MANIFESTATIONS ARE REGULAR IN OCCURRENCE AND EXPRESSION: THEY ARE SHARED BY MEMBER OF A GROUP. WITHIN ALL RELIGIONS, HOWEVER, THERE IS NOT HOMOGENEITY; THERE ARE DIFFERENCES OF INTERPRETATION OF PRINCIPLES AND MEANINGS ().
