Phrasal verbs
That are ? Phrasal verbs are verbs that form combining prepositions, and adverbs
As they used? They are divided into three groups
Inseparable phrasal verbs. Separable phrasal verbsintransitive verbs
Inseparable phrasal verbs.
You can not separate the preposition of the verb and direct object must come after the preposition or adverb that makes up the phrasal verb .
For example…•Look after: cuidar
I’m going to look after you •Look forward to: esperar algo (con ansia)
I look forward to seeing you soon•Turn into: convertirse
The caterpillar turned into a butterfly
Separable phrasal verbs Separable phrasal verbs are transitive (they can take a direct object), and the direct object can separate the verb and the adverb (or preposition).
For example…•How to calm yourself down when you’re nervous•Calm down.
intransitive verbs In grammar, an intransitive verb does not allow an object This is distinct from a trsnsitibe verb , which takes one or more objects. The verb property is called transitivy.
For example • LET'S GO• THE KIDS ARE JUMPING • SAM IS SLEEPING • WE WILL TALK TOMORROW.• HE SITS HERE.
