Nous sommes une petite ville dans un petit pays et c'est un honneur d'accueillir des

médecins et des professionnels de la santé du monde entier. Maribor est la deuxième

plus grande ville de Slovénie et Terme Maribor est un important fournisseur de services

touristiques en Slovénie. Je suis sûr que vous apprécierez votre séjour avec nous et que

vous profiterez des nombreuses autres attractions touristiques offertes par notre ville.

welcome to the 37th World Medical and Health Games in Maribor!

We are a small town in a small country and it is our great honor to host physicians and

healthcare professionals from around the world. Maribor is the second largest city in

Slovenia and Terme Maribor is an important tourist service provider in Slovenia. I am sure

you will enjoy your stay with us and also take part in the many other tourist attractions

offered by our city. I hope that in the next few days you will experience an unforgettable

adventure, tell about it to your colleagues, families and friends and, of course, come to

Maribor again.

The World Medical and Health Games, such as their great model, the Olympic Game,s live

on and lead us this year to a very beautiful country, Slovenia. And it is of course always a

great pleasure for the whole team of CSO to prepare them every year, and for me to take

the pen to tell you how much we are looking forward to this new edition of WMHG : the

37th. Of course time has passed since the first Medigames in 1978 in Cannes. The WMHG

have evolved but have always been a great success for the pleasure of all, especially that

of their organizers, athletes and their companions.

We must not forget the scientific aspect of the Games: the Symposium of Sports Medicine,

which is not to be missed. It will be chaired, as every year, by Dr. André Monroche.

Do not miss, either, all the touristic interests offered to the accompanying persons and

participants themselves, if their schedule allows it between two competitions.

Slovenia offers magnificent landscapes to discover and will certainly give the desire to

return to see more of it.

Enjoy the Medigames and best wishes for success to all of you: wherever you have medals

or not in your luggage on your way home I am sure Slovenia will be a beautiful memory.

Les Jeux Mondiaux de la Médecine et de la Santé, tout comme leur grand modèle, les Jeux

Olympiques, continuent leur chemin qui les mène cette année dans un très beau pays, la

Slovénie. Et c'est bien sûr toujours une très grande joie pour toute l'équipe de CSO qui

œuvre à leur réalisation chaque année, ainsi que pour moi, de reprendre la plume pour

exprimer dans ce programme le plaisir que nous éprouvons tous à la perspective de ce

nouveau numéro des J.M.M.S. : le 37ème. Bien sûr beaucoup de temps est passé depuis

les premiers Jeux en 1978 à Cannes, les J.M.M.S. ont évolué. Mais le succès de ces Jeux ne

s'est jamais démenti et n'a fait que s'accroître avec le temps au plus grand plaisir de tous,

notamment de celui de leurs organisateurs, des sportifs et des leurs accompagnants.

Il ne faut pas oublier le côté sérieux des Jeux : son Symposium de médecine du sport, à ne

pas rater dans la mesure du possible. Il sera présidé, comme chaque année, par le

docteur André Monroche.

Il ne faut pas rater, non plus, toutes les possibilités touristiques proposées aux

accompagnants et aux participants eux-mêmes, s'ils en ont la possibilité entre deux

épreuves.

La Slovénie offre de magnifiques paysages à découvrir et vous donnera sans doute le

désir de revenir pour voir ce que le manque de temps ne vous aura pas permis de visiter.

Bons Jeux à tous et meilleurs vœux de victoire pour chacun d'entre vous : qu'il y ait des

médailles ou non dans vos bagages au retour et que, même sans médaille, la Slovénie soit

un beau souvenir.

Dear participants of the 37th World Medical and Health Games Medigames 2016!

I have completed the subspecialisation of arthroscopic surgery and sports injuries in the

United States (Harvard, Boston) and Sweden (Stockholm). I am also the president of the

Medical Commission of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia, the doctor at the Football

Association of Slovenia and longtime chief medical officer at FC Maribor. As an invited

lecturer I participated at many national and international professional meetings.

Despite the fact that we are located in a small town, we certainly don't lag behind the rest

of the world. As the Head of the Institute of Sports Medicine of the Medical Faculty of the

University of Maribor I am extremely proud that we managed to get the title of FIFA

Medical Centre of Excellence, which proves that we are doing excellent scientific research,

teaching and clinical work.

I hope that you will join us at the symposium and enjoy our beautiful city during

Medigames and then come back again.

En tant que Chef du Département d'Orthopédie de la Faculté de Médecine de l'Université

de Maribor et de l'Institut de la Médecine du Sport à la Faculté de Médecine de l'Université

de Maribor, je suis ravi de vous accueillir dans notre ville universitaire.

J'ai effectué ma sous spécialisation de chirurgie arthroscopique et des blessures du sport

aux Etats Unis (Harvard, Boston) et en Suède (Stockholm). Je suis aussi le président de la

Commission Médicale du Comité Olympique de Slovénie, médecin auprès de l'Association

de Football en Slovénie et médecin chef au FC Maribor. En tant qu'intervenant invité, j'ai

participé à de nombreuses rencontres professionnelles nationales et internationales.

Nous sommes une ville de petite taille, mais ne sommes certainement pas distancés par

le reste du monde sur le plan médical.

En tant que directeur de l'Institut de Médecine du Sport de la Faculté de Médecine de

l'Université de Maribor, je suis extrêmement fier que nous ayons obtenu le titre de Centre

Médical de l'Excellence de la FIFA, ce qui prouve que nous effectuons d'excellentes

recherches scientifiques, que nous bénéficions d'un excellent enseignement et travail

clinique.

BADGE JMMS

Nous vous invitons à retirer votre badge au Centre des Jeux

aux horaires d'ouverture.

Nous rappelons aux participants que l'accès aux

compétitions ainsi qu'aux animations proposées pendant les

JMMS sera exclusivement réservé aux porteurs de badge.

Ces accès seront contrôlés.

Vous êtes logés en chambre/petit-déjeuner dans les hotels

du groupe Terme Maribor.

DÎNER

L'Hotel Habakuk Terracce vous propose un buffet tous

les soirs de 19h00 à 21h30 au Centre des Jeux (menu

différent tous les soirs). Les coupons repas sont en vente

au Centre des Jeux. Prix : 15€/par personne ou 60€/5

repas.

Demi-pension/pension complète

Si vous avez choisi la demi-pension ou la pension complete,

elle vous sera servie dans l'hôtel de votre choix (Habakuk,

Bellevue ou Best Western). Si vous souhaitez commander

cette prestation sur place, merci de vous rapprocher de l'un

de ces hotels.

EXCURSIONS

Renseignements et inscriptions au Centre des Jeux ou à

l'Office de Tourisme.

SERVICE D'ASSISTANCE MEDICALE

Pendant la durée des Jeux, un service d'assistance médicale

sera en place sur la majorité des sites sportifs. En cas de

Public transport of Maribor can be accessed for free with your badge. There are two official

Medigames bus routes: Bus n°6 and Bus n°18.

Bus n°6

links the Habakuk hotel area (bus stop near the Gondola, every 15 min.) to the city centre and some

major sport venues. For more information and Bus routes please see map on p 18 or visit the

Games Centre. There will also be Medigames volunteers on the buses.

Busses from the Hotel Habakuk area to the city centre start running at about 5am, and run approx.

every 15 minutes. It takes about 15 minutes to the sport venues, and about 25 minutes to the city

centre. The last bus from the city centre runs at 10:24 pm on Sunday and 10:34 pm on weekdays.

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF SPORTS MEDICINE PROGRAMME The Symposium is chaired by Dr. André Monroche (France) – Chairman of the Symposium, and Mrs Liliane Laplaine-Monthéard (France) –

President and Founder of the Medigames, and co-chaired by Dr. Matjaz Vogrin (Slovenia).

The International Symposium of Sports Medicine is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the

following CME activity for medical specialists.

The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

The International Symposium of Sports Medicine is designated for a maximum of 4 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim

only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

The International Symposium of Sports Medicine has also been awarded 4 CPD for each

Les transports en commun de Maribor sont accessibles gratuitement avec votre badge. Il y a deux

lignes de bus Medigames officielles : Bus n° 6 et n° 18.

Bus n°6

6 relie la zone de l'hôtel Habakuk (arrêt de bus près de la télécabine, toutes les 15 min.) au centre-

ville et aux principaux sites sportifs. Pour plus d'informations sur les itinéraires, consultez la carte p

18 ou visitez le Centre des Jeux. Des bénévoles Medigames seront également presents à bord des

bus.

Les bus de la zone Hôtel Habakuk vers le centre-ville commencent leur service vers 5h du matin, et

partent toutes les 15 minutes. Il faut environ 15 minutes pour se se rendre sur les sites sportifs, et

environ 25 minutes pour le centre-ville. Le dernier bus part du centre-ville à 22h24 le dimanche et à

22h34 en semaine.

Seuls les participants séjournant à l'Hôtel Bellevue, Hôtel Bolfenk et Hôtel Videc ou les participants

du Cross Country ou VTT recevront un autocollant à apposer sur leur badge afin de bénéficier du

téléphérique gratuitement. Les autres participants peuvent acheter des billets au tarif spécial

Medigames.

Des transferts seront mis en place spécifiquement pour le golf, le tir au pigeon, la force athlétique, la

INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF SPORTS MEDICINE PROGRAMME The Symposium is chaired by Dr. André Monroche (France) – Chairman of the Symposium, and Mrs Liliane Laplaine-Monthéard (France) –

President and Founder of the Medigames, and co-chaired by Dr. Matjaz Vogrin (Slovenia).

The International Symposium of Sports Medicine is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the

following CME activity for medical specialists.

The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

The International Symposium of Sports Medicine is designated for a maximum of 4 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim

only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

The International Symposium of Sports Medicine has also been awarded 4 CPD for each

TRANSPORT

Les transports en commun de Maribor sont accessibles gratuitement avec votre badge. Il y a deux

lignes de bus Medigames officielles : Bus n° 6 et n° 18.

Bus n°6

6 relie la zone de l'hôtel Habakuk (arrêt de bus près de la télécabine, toutes les 15 min.) au centre-

ville et aux principaux sites sportifs. Pour plus d'informations sur les itinéraires, consultez la carte p

18 ou visitez le Centre des Jeux. Des bénévoles Medigames seront également presents à bord des

bus.

Les bus de la zone Hôtel Habakuk vers le centre-ville commencent leur service vers 5h du matin, et

partent toutes les 15 minutes. Il faut environ 15 minutes pour se se rendre sur les sites sportifs, et

environ 25 minutes pour le centre-ville. Le dernier bus part du centre-ville à 22h24 le dimanche et à

22h34 en semaine.

Sites sportifs accessibles avec le bus n ° 6:

- Semi-marathon (Départ – zone de l'Hôtel Habakuk), Cross-country (+ télécabine), Badminton,

Basket-ball, volley-ball, cyclisme (+ télécabine pour Prolog et étape 2), échecs, escrime, judo, natation

(+ 5 min. à pied), squash, tennis, tennis de table, football

Bus n°18

relie la zone de l'hôtel Habakuk (à 300 m de l'Hôtel, Pohorska ulica, voir carte p 18) au centre-ville et

au stade d'athlétisme Poljane.

Sites sportifs accessibles par télécabine:

ź Mountain Biking

A partir du 27 mai, la télécabine fonctionnera tous les jours de 7h à 22h, toutes les heures à l'heure

pile. Pour les participants des Medigames, un service special sera mis en place le dimanche 29 mai,

mercredi 1er Juin et vendredi 3 juin à minuit ! Le trajet en téléphérique prend aprox. 10 minutes.

Seuls les participants séjournant à l'Hôtel Bellevue, Hôtel Bolfenk et Hôtel Videc ou les participants

du Cross Country ou VTT recevront un autocollant à apposer sur leur badge afin de bénéficier du

téléphérique gratuitement. Les autres participants peuvent acheter des billets au tarif spécial

Medigames.

Transferts

Des transferts seront mis en place spécifiquement pour le golf, le tir au pigeon, la force athlétique, la

nage en eau libre, le triathlon, le beach Volley et pour le transport des vélos. Pour plus

Cette manifestation est ouverte aux professions de santé. Tout participant devra apporter la preuve de son

appartenance à une de ces professions. Aucun badge ne sera délivré ultérieurement sans présentation d'un justificatif

professionnel à C.S.O.

INFORMATIONS SPORTIVES

Les fiches sport sont disponibles au bureau des sports et sur la zone d'affichage du Centre des Jeux. Chacune d'entre

elles contient une description complète du sport concerné avec le calendrier des épreuves et des renseignements

pratiques. Tous les sports y sont représentés.

LES SPORTS

Le Comité Sportif a toujours la possibilité d'inclure au programme de nouvelles disciplines ou d'en éliminer si les

conditions l'exigent.

Pour chaque épreuve individuelle, sauf certaines disciplines indiquées dans le règlement des sports, un classement sera

établi par catégories d'âge.

CONTROLES

Afin d'éviter toute contestation, l'organisation des JMMS procèdera à des contrôles d'identité de chaque participant. Des

contrôles anti-dopage pourront également être effectués après les épreuves.

Les fiches sport sont disponibles au bureau des sports et sur la zone d'affichage du Centre des Jeux. Chacune d'entre

elles contient une description complète du sport concerné avec le calendrier des épreuves et des renseignements

pratiques. Tous les sports y sont représentés.

LES SPORTS

Le Comité Sportif a toujours la possibilité d'inclure au programme de nouvelles disciplines ou d'en éliminer si les

conditions l'exigent.

Pour chaque épreuve individuelle, sauf certaines disciplines indiquées dans le règlement des sports, un classement sera

établi par catégories d'âge.

CONTROLES

Afin d'éviter toute contestation, l'organisation des JMMS procèdera à des contrôles d'identité de chaque participant. Des

contrôles anti-dopage pourront également être effectués après les épreuves.

vigne du monde continue à pousser devant La Maison du Vin. Le vin de

“Žametovka” date d'il y a plus de 400 ans, ce qui lui a valu de gagner sa

LENT

Le quartier de Lent constitue le plus charmant et la plus ancienne partie de

la ville de Maribor. La plus ancienne vigne du monde prend racine devant

l'Ancienne Maison de la Vigne et atteste de plusieurs histoires qui se sont

déroulées sur les rives de la Drava. Ce sont les navigateurs qui ont laissé le

plus de traces sur ces rives où ils s'arrêtaient pour se rafraîchir et se

ravitailler avant de gagner la Serbie ou la Croatie.

Chaque été le Festival de Lent a lieu à Maribor. Il est considéré comme le

In the heart of the old city centre on Lent, the oldest vine in the world still

grows in front of the Old Vine House. The confirmed age of this “Žametovka”

vine is over 400 years, which won it a place in the Guinness Book of Records

as the oldest noble vine in the world still bearing grapes. The Old Vine is a

symbol of the rich wine culture of Maribor, Styria, and all of Slovenia.

VINAG WINE CELLAR


In the centre of the city, below the square Trg svobode and further on, is

one of the largest and oldest classic wine cellars in Europe – it boasts an

area of 20.000 m2 and 2,5 kilometre long underground tunnels, which lead

you into a wonderful world full of the tastes of wine!

Wooden barrels, concrete cisterns, bottles with wine patina… The most

valuable speciality in the cellar is certainly the wine archives, where more

than 250.000 bottles of the best vintages are kept.

of the Maribor region and its surroundings – all this has been collected in

the Maribor Castle, a prominent architectonic monument, which in all its

LENT

Lent is the most delightful and the oldest part of the city of Maribor. The

oldest vine in the world grows its deep roots in front of the Old Vine House,

and has witnessed many stories that have taken place on the banks of the

Drava River. The greatest mark was definitely left by the rafters who

refreshed themselves at the largest rafting harbour of that time and

obtained supplies for their further navigation towards Croatia and Serbia.

Every summer the Lent Festival is held in Maribor. It is considered the

largest Slovenian outdoor festival and one of the largest in Europe

When strolling through the old town core, it is impossible to overlook the

"reddish" Franciscan church with its monastery, which proudly stands next

to important streets in the centre of town, namely the streets Partizanska

cesta and Svetozarevska ulica.

Visit the central museum-gallery establishment in north-eastern Slovenia

and become acquainted with and admire the works of artists dating from

the end of the 19th century up to this present day. Beside the art exhibition

Leave the noise of the city behind and take a walk through the beautifully

landscaped City Park, where you will discover three ponds, the popular

Aquarium and terrarium, and the playground. The path, which weaves

through all types of trees, artfully arranged flower beds, water fountains,

and by the hill of roses, will let you relax and calm your mind. You can sit on

the banks by the beautiful ponds and enjoy the company of water birds or

LENT

Le quartier de Lent constitue le plus charmant et la plus ancienne partie de

la ville de Maribor. La plus ancienne vigne du monde prend racine devant

l'Ancienne Maison de la Vigne et atteste de plusieurs histoires qui se sont

déroulées sur les rives de la Drava. Ce sont les navigateurs qui ont laissé le

plus de traces sur ces rives où ils s'arrêtaient pour se rafraîchir et se

ravitailler avant de gagner la Serbie ou la Croatie.

Chaque été le Festival de Lent a lieu à Maribor. Il est considéré comme le

plus grand festival en plein air d'Europe.
