US GEOTRACES Major activities
1) Atlantic GA03: Papers continue to be published (GEOTRACES highlights: Zn-Si, Cd-P).
New data for IDP2017. 2) Arctic GN01: Cruise (HLY1502) completed 9 Aug – 12 Oct 2015. 3) Arctic GN01: Data workshop (tentatively 22-25 October 2017) 4) Pacific GP16: Data workshop 8-13 Nov 2015; 65 participants. 5) Pacific GP15: Management proposal (ship time, sampling systems,
hydrography) submitted to US NSF 15 Aug 2016 (Greg Cutter, Karen Casciotti and Phoebe Lam, PIs).
6) Pacific GP15: Cruise planning workshop 5 – 7 Oct 2017. Individual PI (TEI) proposals to US NSF 15 Feb 2017. Cruise planned for summer 2018.

US GEOTRACES Outreach – Arctic & Other 1) Katlin Bowman (Univ. California Santa Cruz) presentation at San
Francisco California community event on motivations for GEOTRACES (TEI research) with emphasis on the Arctic
2) Jessica Fitzsimmons (Texas A&M University) prepared four scripts on Arctic Ocean climate change and oceanography for a monthly series of “On the Ocean” National Public Radio show
3) Mariko Hatta (University of Hawaii) presented talks at the Mid-Pacific Institute in July (~150 students, 6-10 years old) and December 2015 (joined by Chris Measures) presenting results from the Arctic; repeated in January 2016 at the Honolulu Waldorf School.
4) Greg Cutter: October 2015 presentation to the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Hampton Roads Section; February 2016 presentation to Old Dominion Univ. Science Pub nights; April 2016 presentation to the Hampton Yacht Club.
