     The throttle lock is there to maintain engine R,- to give positiveresponse on rimpull and hydraulics especially in the lade loadingsegment of the $/ cycle. The throttle lock allows the engine to runat continuous R,- in order to provide ma"imum hydraulic power from

    the implement pump.If the throttle lock is used when travelling it acts like the cruise controlon a car. It can e deactivated y application of the right pedal rakeor the panel3mounted switch shown aove.

    4ote5 The throttle lock must e enaled efore engine speed can eset. 6n indicator light comes on when the throttle lock is enaled.

     7sing the left pedal will not disconnect the throttle lock and if usedcan allow the machine to accelerate due to its weight ecause theretardation of the engine has een reduced from 100%. It is not recommended to use throttle lock and left pedal other thanwhen do+ing or when maneuvering at very low speed as the machine

    The left pedal should be considered to function as a clutch where the powertrain is progressively disengaged from a ma"imum of100% rimpull to a minimum of 20% rimpull. This is used to control tyre slip and redirect power to the hydraulics toincrease lade response. This pedal should e considered as a ground speed controller whiledo+ing or while maneuvering at low speed on level ground.

    The left pedal should never be used to brake the machine. Therake application at the end of clutch pedal travel allows the operatorto hold the machine in position without having to use the right rakepedal which would re&uire using oth feet and would disengage

    throttle lock. 7sing the left pedal while working ground speed shoulde low 1st gear and only 20% Rimpull is working against the rakes. The key thing to rememer is that the left pedal8s raking function is tocontrol the machine not to retard or stop the machine while intransport. ICTC helps to match ground speed with working conditions.

    The dierence between left (clutch) and riht (brake) pedalactuation is that the left pedal reduces clutch pressure whichlimits the enine!s natural retardin capability, but can stillprovide 20% rimpull aainst the brakes.

    "impull #ontrol $ystemThe Impeller Clutch Torque Converter (ICTC) pedal works very well by itself to controlground speed provide smoother directional shifts and for controlling occasional tire slip.

    !owever certain dozing conditions such as coal applications or wet slick floors may

    require a reduced rimpull setting for long periods in order to prevent costly tire slip."ather than the operator trying to find the best rimpull setting with the ICTC pedal the

    operator can use the "impull Control #ystem ("C#) selector dial to select the ma$imum

    desired rimpull from four factory preset positions%

    2ozers will have the "C# installed at the factory as standard equipment. To retrofit your

    current ' serial number machine please see #&2 *345 for information.

    1hen the "C# selection switch is in any position other than ma$imum an indicator light

    on the dash will illuminate. The operator can choose the reduced setting that best matches

    conditions. 'dditional rimpull modulation can still be achieved with the left pedal. 6ore$ample if the operator selects the edium setting he can then modulate from that point

    down to ,* percent. "C# is active in first forward gear only. If the operator shifts to

    second gear or higher the machine will provide 7** percent rimpull. 1hen he shifts back 

    to first gear the rimpull will revert back to the level selected.

    General 9perational !ips -Su//aryIt is recommended the $/ e operated with throttle lock activatedand on in #rst gear. This enales the redirection of full engine power

    from Rimpull to hydraulics to match ground speed to hydraulicimplement speed. 7se of The ICTC is useful when loading lade or in areas where

    rimpull control is desirale. 6n e"ample where ICTC is useful is wheretyre slip may occur or in poor underfoot or ony material.

     The right pedal is the service rake and should e used for all

    raking.7sing the right pedal natural engine retardation assists in the raking

    process. Recommended for 2nd 9 :rd gear The throttle lock is disengaged when the right pedal is depressed.

     The $/ is capale of maintaining constant speed in 2nd gear on a

    ramp of 11% e!ective grade downhill using engine retardation alone.6ssumes second gear operation  6t an 11% grade with ;ock 7p Converter switched on throttle lock

    o! no service raking should e re&uired.
