General Safety• The appliance may only be installed and
connected by trained, registered serviceengineers.

• In the event of faults with the appliance ordamage to the glass ceramic (cracks,scratches or splits), the appliance must beswitched off and disconnected from theelectrical supply, to prevent the possibilityof an electric shock.
• Repairs to the appliance must only be car-ried out by trained registered service engi-neers.
Safety during use• Remove stickers and film from the glass
ceramic.• There is the risk of burns from the appli-
ance if used carelessly.• Cables from electrical appliances must not
touch the hot surface of the appliance orhot cookware.
• Overheated fats and oils can ignite veryquickly. Warning! Fire hazard!
• Switch the cooking zones off after eachuse.

Safety when cleaning• For cleaning, the appliance must be
switched off and cooled down.• For safety reasons, the cleaning of the ap-
pliance with steam jet or high pressurecleaning equipment is not permitted.
How to avoid damage to the appliance• The glass ceramic can be damaged by
objects falling onto it.• The edge of the glass ceramic can be
damaged by being knocked by the cook-ware.
• Cookware made of cast iron, castaluminium or with damaged bottoms canscratch the glass ceramic if pushed acrossthe surface.
• Before spillage can become burnt on tothe cooking surface, remove it with adamp cloth.
• To avoid damaging cookware and glassceramics, do not allow saucepans or fryingpans to boil dry.
• Do not use the cooking zones with emptycookware or without cookware.

Switching the STOP+GO function on and offThe STOP+GO function simultaneously switches all cooking zones that are switched on tothe keep warm setting and then back to the heat setting that was previously set.
Timer functions are not stopped bySTOP+GO.
STOP+GO locks the whole controlpanel except the sensor field .

Using the child safety device
The child safety device prevents unintentional use of the appliance.

Until the appliance is next switched off, it can be used as normal. After switching off the appliance, thechild safety device is active again.

If a heat setting is set on this cooking zone in addition to a countdown timer,the cooking zone is switched off after the time set has elapsed.

If the pilot light is flashing more slowly, the heat setting can be set or modified.
If other timer functions are set, after a few seconds the shortest remaining timeof all the timer functions is displayed and the corresponding pilot light flashes.

Tips on cooking and fryingInformation on acrylamides
According to the latest scientific knowl-edge, intensive browning of food,especially in products containing starch,can constitute a health risk due to acryla-mides. Therefore we recommend cook-ing at the lowest possible temperaturesand not browning foods too much.
Cookware• You can recognise good cookware from
the bottoms of the pans. The bottomshould be as thick and flat as possible.
• Cookware made of enamelled steel or withaluminium or copper bottoms can leavediscolorations on the glass ceramic sur-face which are difficult or impossible toremove.
Energy saving
Always place cookware on the cookingzone before it is switched on.
Switch cooking zones off before the endof the cooking time, to take advantageof residual heat.
If possible, always place lids on thepans.

Removing deposites1. Place a scraper on the glass ceramic sur-

Remove stubborn residues with acleaner for glass ceramic or stain-less steel.
Scratches or dark stains on theglass ceramic that cannot be re-moved do not however affect thefunctioning of the appliance.

Important! Installation may only be carriedout by a qualified electrician.The minimum distances to other appliancesand units are to be observed.Anti-shock protection must be provided bythe installation, for example drawers mayonly be installed with a protective floordirectly underneath the appliance.The cut surfaces of the worktop are to beprotected against moisture using a suitablesealant. The sealant seals the appliance tothe work top with no gap. Do not use siliconsealant between the appliance and the worktop.Avoid installing the appliance next to doorsand under windows. Otherwise hot cook-ware may be knocked off the rings whendoors and windows are opened.

• The electrical mains terminal is live.• Make electrical mains terminal free of volt-
age.• Follow connection schematic.• Observe electrical safety rules.• Ensure anti-shock protection by installing
correctly.• The appliance must be connected to the
electrical supply by a qualified electrician.• Loose and inappropriate plug and socket
connections can make the terminal over-heat.
• Have the clamping connections correctlyinstalled by a qualified electrician.
• Use strain relief clamp on cable.

Electrical ConnectionBefore connecting, check that the nominalvoltage of the appliance, that is the voltagestated on the rating plate, corresponds to theavailable supply voltage. Also check thepower rating of the appliance and ensure thatthe wire is suitably sized in accordance withlocal wiring rules to suit the appliance powerrating. The rating plate is located on the lowercasing of the hob. The heating element volt-age is AC230V~. The appliance also worksperfectly on networks with AC220V~ or
AC240V~. Means for disconnection must beincorporated in the fixed wiring in accord-ance with local wiring rules.The hob is to beconnected to the mains using a device thatallows the appliance to be disconnectedfrom the mains at all poles with a contactopening width of at least 3 mm, eg.automatic line protecting cut-out, earth leak-age tripsorfuse. If this appliance’s mains ca-ble is damaged, it must be replaced by aspecial cable (type H05BB-F Tmax 90°C; orhigher). The latter is available from theCustomer Care Department. The connectionmust be carried out as shown in the diagram.The connecting links should be fitted accord-ing to the appropriate connection diagram.The earth lead is connected to terminal .The earth lead must be longer than leadscarrying electric current. The cable con-nections must be made in accordancewith regulations and the terminal screwstightened securely. Finally, the connectingcable is to be secured with the mains cablecleat and the covering closed by pressingfirmly (lock into place). Before switching onfor the first time, any protective foil or stickersmust be removed from the glass ceramicsurface.
Warning! Once connected to themains supply check that all cookingzones are ready for use by brieflyswitching each on in turn at themaximum setting.• A duplicate rating label is supplied
with this unit. For easy identification ofthis unit after installation, stick it to areadily available surface adjacent tothe cooktop.
Sticking on the seal• Clean the worktop around the cutout area.• Stick the single-sided adhesive sealing
tape provided on the underside of the hobaround the outside edge ensuring that it isnot stretched. The two ends of the tapeshould join in the middle of one side. Aftertrimming the tape (allow it to overlap by 2-3mm), press the two ends together.

5. Parts and Appliances not supplied byElectrolux are not covered by thiswarranty.
6. Where you are within an Electrolux serv-ice area, this warranty covers the cost oftransport of the Appliance to and fromAuthorised Service Centres of Electroluxand travelling costs for representatives ofthe Authorised Service Centre to andfrom your home or business. If you areoutside an Electrolux service area, youwill bear these costs. 7. Proof of purchase is required before youcan make a claim under this warranty.

This warranty, the contract to which itrelates and the relationship between youand Electrolux are governed by the lawapplicable in the Australian State wherethe Appliance was purchased or the lawapplicable in New Zealand if the Appli-ance was purchased in New Zealand.Where the Appliance was purchased inNew Zealand for business purposes theConsumer Guarantee Act does not ap-ply.Limitation of Liability
10. To the extent permitted by law:– Electrolux excludes all warranties
other than as contained in this docu-ment;
– Electrolux shall not be liable for anyloss or damage whether direct or in-direct or consequential arising fromyour purchase, use or non-use of theAppliance.
11. Provisions of the Trade Practices Actand State consumer legislation inAustralia, and the Consumer Guaran-tees Act, the Sale of Goods Act and theFair Trading Act in New Zealand, implywarranties or conditions, or impose ob-ligations, upon Electrolux which cannotbe excluded, restricted or modified. Tothe extent permitted by law, the liabilityof Electrolux (if any) arising out of or inrelation to the Appliance or any servicessupplied by Electrolux shall be limited(where it is fair and reasonable to do so),:– in the case of Appliances, at its option,
to the replacement or repair of the Ap-pliances or the supply of equivalentproducts or the payment of the cost ofreplacing the Appliances or having theAppliances repaired or of acquiringequivalent Appliances. Upon being re-placed, parts and Appliances becomethe property of Electrolux; or
– in the case of services, at its option, tothe supply of the services again or thepayment of the cost of having theservices re-supplied;
and in the case of Appliances or servicessupplied in New Zealand, loss or dam-age whether direct or indirect or conse-quential that is reasonably foreseeable.
