    2. Call your dealer and describe the problem. Please have your manual, product, and relevant information readily available.

    3. If your product is diagnosed as defective, obtain an RMA (return merchandize authorization) number from your dealer. This allows us to process your return more quickly.

    4. Carefully pack the defective product, a completed Repair and Replacement Order Card, and proof of purchase date (such as a photocopy of your sales receipt) in a shippable container. Products returned without proof of purchase date are not eligible for warranty service.

    5. Write the RMA number clearly on the outside of the package, then ship the product prepaid to your dealer.

  • Safety Instructions1. Read these safety instructions carefully.2. Retain this user manual for future reference.3. Disconnect the equipment from AC outlets before cleaning. Do not use liquid or

    spray detergents for cleaning. Instead, use a damp cloth.4. For pluggable equipment, the power outlet must be located near the equipment

    1 PrefaceSoftware Applications and

    BackgroundSystem ArchitecturePrecautionsProduct Description

  • 1.1 Software Applications and BackgroundThank you for purchasing WebAccess + IMM Touch Series (hereafter referred to asthis software). This software provides the platform of an interactive digital signagemanagement system and can only be operated on an Advantech industrial host com-puter.The main functions supported by this software are program layout editing, interactivebutton configuration, and Internet-based data transmissions to client devices for play-back. Using the graphics interface, operators can rapidly create advertisements andgenerate marketing content.

    1.2 System ArchitectureThis software features a client-server architecture, where program and script editingare conducted on the server side. Data is then transmitted to every client device viathe Internet, and these client devices run the scripts.

    1.3 Precautions1. This software can only be used on Advantech platforms or with systems certified

    by Advantech. For problems resulting from operation on non-Advantech plat-forms or systems, we do not provide technical support. (The figure below shows the error message presented when the software is operated on non-Advantech platforms and systems.)

    2. This software should be used in combination with third-party software, such as a video decoder, to completely display the editing screen. Please refer to the Installation Guide for further details.

    3. For the operating system, we recommend using Windows Embedded Stan-dards, which have been tested on this platform.

    4. The Windows taskbar is automatically hidden when the software is running and is displayed when the program is exited. If not automatically displayed, users can select “Show TaskBar” to display the taskbar.

    5. For additional information regarding the data directory, auto run, and hide task-bar settings (shown in the figure below), please refer to the WebAccess + IMM Touch Installation Guide.

    1.4 Product Description1. WebAccess + IMM Touch Server is installed on the server side and used to con-

    duct program and script editing and dispatching, as well as remote management of all devices installed with WebAccess + IMM Touch Client.

    2. WebAccess + IMM Touch Client is installed on the client side and used to receive and play programs dispatched by the server.

  • 2.1 Software ExecutionThe software is executed automatically after installation (as shown in the imagebelow).

    If the software is not automatically executed, access “Windows” -> “Programs” ->“AIS” -> “WebAccess + IMM Touch Server” -> “WebAccess + IMM Touch Server” toexecute the software manually (path shown below).

    2.2 System Login

    This software is a web-based system. Open Internet Explorer and enter theURL http://127.0.0.1/PST/ to start using the software.* The recommended browser is Internet Explorer 8 and above.* External connection: http://SERVER IP/PST/* The software version is indicated along the bottom of the screenshot below.

    Select Language: English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese (This is the language of the operation interface, not the operating system).Default User Name and Password: admin (in lower case).

    2.3.1 Program Management

    “Script” allows users to view all edited scripts and programs. In the screenshot shownabove, scripts are displayed on the left, and programs are displayed on the right.

    The script management interface is shown in the image below.

    1. [Script flowchart]: Access the flowchart to view the connection between each program (as shown below). Click on the program name to open the editing page.

    (1). Homepage: Program on the homepage.(2). Normal: Program on a non-homepage.(3). Homepage, has been generated: Homepage program that has been gen-erated previously in the flowchart.(4). Normal, has been generated: Normal program that has been generated previously in the flowchart.

    [Idle setting]: Enable idle function and set idle time. When the device is inactive for longer than the specified idle time, the idle page is displayed.[Set idle page]: Set a specific page as the idle page.[Set homepage]: Set a specific page as the homepage.[New]: Add a new program and enter the program editing page.[Copy]: Copy a program.[Remove]: Remove a program (programs cannot be restored once deleted).

    2. [Directory]: Copy, remove, or rename a script.

    Description

    1. Playback formats supported: [Image], [Video], [Versatile], [Scrolling], [Web], [Flash], [PPT], [Time], [Button], [TV], and [Bulletin Board].

    2. Zoom options supported.3. Block setting zone: Select a block to edit from the dropdown list. Enter X and Y

    coordinate values to precisely position the block. Input width and height values to quickly set the screen or block size.

    4. Save and exit.5. Set the program name (required): Select a program and set the background

    color, image, and music. 6. Add a new block and adjust its position and size by directly dragging the block.

    Double click the block to edit it.7. Block setting zone: Select a block to edit from the dropdown list. Enter X and Y

    coordinate values to precisely position the block. Input width and height values to quickly set the screen or block size.

    8. Double click to edit and upload content to a block (see the image below).

    Note! “Media Management” is the window for uploading and managing pro-gram materials. We recommend first uploading program materials and content before editing programs. For further details, see Section 2.4 “Media Management”.

  • 2.3.3 Button ComponentAfter a new button component is added, click the button to view the editing block (asshown below).

    Buttons enable users to carry out interactive actions. The following three interactivefunctions are provided:

    [Unopened]: No action is carried out after the button is clicked. [Switching the whole page]: Switch the whole page after the button is clicked. [Switching assigned partition]: Switch a single partition after the button is clicked.

    Click the pencil icon beside “Block Playlist” or double click on the block to edit thebutton pattern (as shown below).

    1. Button Pattern:[Default]: General button functions.

    [Mouse Down]: After the button is clicked, the text will be displayed briefly before disappearing.

    [Mouse Focus]: After the button is clicked, the text will be displayed and remain onscreen.

    2. Edit the button pattern.3. Preview the edited button pattern.4. Confirm: Save the edit.

  • 2.4 Media Management

    Upload, classify, and manage program materials. All materials required to edit a pro-gram are displayed here.

    2.4.1 New Directory

    [New Directory]: Upload, classify and manage program materials. We recommendclassifying materials according to their properties, the date and time, display location,as well as the item and program category. Please see the procedures outlined below.1. Create a subdirectory under the root directory. Enter a name for the subdirectory

    and click “New Directory”. If users select a subdirectory and click “New Direc-tory”, a directory will be created on another level under the existing subdirectory. The number of directory levels is not limited in this system.

    2. When a specified directory is selected, click “New File” to upload required mate-rials to the directory; or click “New Text” to add scrolling text and a format style.

    1. Click “New File” to view the local directory.

    2. Add the files to be uploaded (multiple selection is supported).

  • 2.4.3 New Scrolling Text

    1. Save & Close: Close the page after saving all changes, or without saving. 2. Title: Enter a name for the scrolling text.

    Font Family & Font Size: Select a font for the scrolling text from the dropdown list. Input a numerical value to set the font size.

    3. Background Color & Text Color: Set the color of the background and scrolling text.

    4. Scrolling Speed: The default value is 50. The higher the value is, the faster the text scrolling speed.Preview: Preview the effect after setting the font type, font size, and text color.Content: Enter the content of the scrolling text.

    The new scrolling text will be saved in the specified directory (as shown below).

    2.4.4 New Bulletin Board

    1. Save & Close: Close the page after saving all, or without saving. 2. Bulletin Title: Enter a name for the bulletin board.3. Font Family & Font Size: Select a font for the scrolling text from the dropdown

    list. Input a numerical value to set the font size.4. Background Color & Text Color: Set the color of the background and text.

    Transparent Background: Select this option for a transparent background.5. Content: Enter the content of the bulletin board.

    System management comprises “User Management” and “Client Device Manage-ment”, which are described in detail below.

    2.5.1 User Management

    1. [Account Management]: Create an account, set a password, and specify the authority and department. [Department Management]: Create a department group. Groups in the same department can mutually manage data.

    2. [New]: Add a new account or department.[Remove]: Delete an account or department.

    2.5.2 Account Management

    1. [Account Information]: Edit an account, password, and/or e-mail address.2. [Department]: Select the department to which the account belongs. Groups in

    the same department can mutually manage data. 3. [Authority]: Designate the administrative authority of the account. 4. [Save & Exit]: Save the settings and exit the editing page.

    [Save]: Save the settings and continue editing.[Close]: Close the page without saving.

    2.5.3 Department Management

    1. [Department Information]: Enter the department name and description.2. [Save & Exit]: Save the settings and exit the editing page.

    1. [Device Management]: Set a new device and manage current devices.[Group Management]: Combine several devices into a group for easy manage-ment.

    2. [Power On]: Select a device to remotely power on.[Restart]: Select a device to remotely restart (multiple selection is supported).[Upgrade]: Select a device to upgrade. Users should also set the playback soft-ware for remote upgrades (multiple selection is supported).[New]: Add a new device.[Remove]: Delete a device.

    Click on the device status icon to view the device information (as shown in the imagein the following section). Users can view the device information, device screenshots,as well as device hardware and software status.

    2.5.5 Device Edit

    1. [Device Information]: Edit the device name and Client ID, and view the software version.

    2. [Auto Shutdown]: Set the specific time for daily system shutdowns. 3. [Department and Group]: Select a department and add a device to a certain

    group in this department (For information about adding a new group, please refer to “Group Management”).

    4. [Save & Exit]: Save the settings and exit the editing page. [Save]: Save the settings and continue editing.[Close]: Close the page without saving.

    2.6 Program DispatchUsers can dispatch a program and check its dispatch status and history.

    2.6.1 Dispatch Schedule

    1. [Overall Schedule]: Select a schedule to dispatch.[Start to dispatch]: Set a date and time for dispatch.[Activation time]: Set a dispatched program to play immediately or at another specified time.

    2. [Group]: Dispatch based on group selection.[Device]: Dispatch based on device selection.

    3. [Execute]: Click “Execute” after configuring all settings on this page.

    Users can check the dispatch status of programs that are being dispatched. The pro-gram dispatch status can also be checked by department.

    2.6.3 History

    1. Check the dispatch history for a specific department.2. Check the dispatch history on a specific date.

    2.7 Data Backup and Recovery

    Access “Windows” -> “Start” -> “Programs” -> “AIS” -> “WebAccess + IMM TouchServer” -> and Click “Backup and Recovery”.

    2.8 System Logout

    2.8.1 Exit

    Click the “Logout” button to exit the software. Users will need to input the password tolog into the software again.

    2.8.2 Quit

    To quit the software, right click on the playing program and click “OK” in the pop-upwindow.*Remarks: When the player is powered on, the program is played automatically.
