‣ From May 2017 — Dec 2017, we analyzed approx. 35,000 reviews across 150 hotels

‣ To measure impact on quantity: percent increase in reviews were calculated

‣ To measure impact on recency: number of additional collected reviews per month were counted

‣ To measure impact on quality: average ratings between non-Guestfolio collected and Guestfolio-collected reviews were compared

‣ From May 2017 — Jan 2018, we analyzed approx. 250,000 survey responses and approx. 45,000 TripAdvisor reviews across two groups: (a) hotels with TripAdvisor Integration + Pre-Population and (b) hotels with TripAdvisor Integration only

‣ The group with TripAdvisor + Pre-Population comprised of 13 hotels, with a total number of approx. 3,800 reviews

‣ The group with TripAdvisor Integration only comprised of 300–350 hotels, with a total number of approx. 45,000 reviews

SUMMARYWhat we learned from our research

‣ Enabling TripAdvisor Integration can positively impact all three determinants of TripAdvisor’s ranking algorithm: volume, recency and quality.

‣ By reducing the effort required of guests to complete a review, hotels with the TripAdvisor Pre-Population enhancement can expect to see an average increase in review volume by 22.4%.
