Environmental Impact Report Response for Natural Gas Service

Reference: Washington Project (EIR) received 04/15/2009 The following are answers to questions asked on the referenced EIR. The answers are in the same order as the questions asked in the EIR. 1. The following mains exist on the requested street(s): Washington Blvd. has

a 4” main and a 16” main across the street from the proposed location; there is a 2” steel main along Oak St.

2. At this time there are no known natural gas service problems or deficiencies

in the project area (5/5/2009). 3. If problems/deficiencies were to exist, appropriate actions e.g. pressure

betterments, natural gas supplies would need to be initiated to solve problems. The maximum load will vary depending on the area and main selected for service.

4. We don’t have any recommended rates at this time. You might want to

contact representatives for SCAQMD for clarification since this reference is not created or maintained by Southern California Gas Company

5. The Southern California Gas Company can’t determine that information until

the total load requested is submitted for analysis 6. Yes, there are standard criteria we use in order to determine the impact of

natural gas service on our system 7. That information will vary depending on the size of the main, service, and

requested load. At the moment, that information can’t be determine until a pressure request is submitted.

8. Yes, SoCal Gas would be able to accommodate the proposed project’s

demand for natural gas with the existing natural gas supplies. If not, then SoCal would make the adequate changes in order to provide the load to the customer.

9. Yes, SoCal Gas would be able to accommodate the proposed project’s

demand for natural gas with the existing natural gas supplies. 10. No, there would not be any disruption in the project area when “hooking-up”

the proposed project. 11. There are no recommendations at the time.

Note: These answers are only estimates to the proposed project as of May 5th, 2009. Actual gas demand can only be determined when customer equipment is known. Completed by: Fidel Galvan Region Associate Engineer Southern California Gas Company
