Its Fall, Y’all, and time for a Congregational work day. We'll be picking a Saturday to spend a morningworking around our building. If you've got something you'd really like to see done, particularlysomething you want to work on talk to Lee Van Wagner or Joe Cunningham. If you've got kids thatuse the playground think about what you'd like to see happen out there.

Waldo’s Coffeehouse on November the 8th with Big Wide Grin. (Flyers for the Big Wide Grinperformance are available on the table beneath the bulletin board in the fellowship hall.)

Social Action in October 2013

Do you have some fabulous ideas on how UU can make a difference through social action right herein Waco? Please share your ideas through our social action committee at [email protected]. Let's allwork together to make a difference!

Thank you to all who participated in last Saturday’s CROP Walk. We had an awesome UUFW representation andraised $250 to help alleviate hunger in our community through Caritas.

We still need four or five volunteers, please help if you are available.

Sunday October 20, 2013: Fast For Caring If you participated in Fast for Caring today, remember to bring your lunch money on Sunday. The children/youth will betaking up a special collection on Sunday in their decorated lunch sacks.Parents: If your children/youth would like to come with us to present the money to Talitha Koum, we will be going oneafternoon next week. Please let Carmen Saenz ([email protected])know what day works for you. We will begoing around 3:30.We have AWESOME children/youth!!

Tuesday October 22, 2013: Waco Community Race Relations Coalition“What Do We Tell Our Kids After Trayvon?” This is an open forum/discussion on the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmermansituation and our feelings, ideas and thoughts on this and how it impacts our families and particularly children. We areprimarily seeking parents, grandparents, teachers and others working with children. All are welcome, but a reservation isrequired as we are limiting the number of participants.
