Shoulder pain in diabetes patients are one of the
common symptoms. In a diabetes patient, the most common cause of shoulder pain is due to periarthritis of
shoulder joint. Periarthritis is nothing but the
inflammation of the shoulder joint capsule, which is the covering layer of shoulder joint. Periarthritis shoulder can develop due to minimal trauma to shoulder joint, excessive strain to shoulder joint and uncontrolled diabetes. Don't take pain reducing tablets regularly for this problem, because long term pain killing
medications in diabetes patients damages the kidney.
All the treatment required is strict diabetes control, regular physiotherapy and local pain reducing agents if
needed. If the patients follow strict diabetes control and
physiotherapy, the pain will subside over the period and the patient can use shoulder joint as normal as
