From the Master in the East Worshipful Armand Ballesil

FROM THE EAST

Brethren, The frst half of the year is almost over. For the month of June, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, it will be the startof the Summer Solstce. The days will be longer than the nights. People are already planning for their family vacatons.Going home away from home? Why not? It is said that we have to divide our life into three parts: for the service ofGod and to others, for our usual vocaton or occupaton and for refreshment and repose, which simply means rest andnot to worry.

One more month before we go dark. Dark is a Mason's lingo of going on "vacaton" Let me lay down then my plan forthe month of June. For the month of June we will have to Raise at least two Brothers. One of it will be in conjunctonwith the Past Masters Night which will be on June 29th. I hope to see you all when that day comes, for our PastMasters will try again to do what they did before, rod works and memorizaton. But that is not the main objectve ofthat event. It is to honor and acknowledge the good service they rendered when they were in charge of theadministraton of the Lodge. But frst, lets not forget the Masons for Mits Fundraising event which will be on thefourth of June, Sunday. It is a charity event being encouraged by our Grand Lodge, charity being a Masonic duty. Thischarity is made to support some less fortunate children who loves the sports, Baseball.

I almost forgot, on our Stated Meetng which will be on June the second, unofcially, June is a Heritage month. A tmewhere you can be proud of your ancestry. On this day, you can don your cultural atres and if you wish to tell storiesabout your Heritage, I will be willing to listen, perhaps over a cup of cofee? or a glass of beer? but anyway lets just allhave fun on that day. Masonic life should not be all serious, its getng to be just a way of life..

See you all,

Upon the Square.

From the Senior in the West From the Junior in the SouthAs the Sun at Meridian Height

(There will be no article from the Junior Wardenthis month-Editor.)

Fraternally and By The Plumb,Manuel “Sam” SarmientoJunior Warden

THE SUN IS IN THE WEST

We started the month of May with two major activities: thefirst one is the official visit and reception of our own WB JohnWasson, the Inspector of the 131st Masonic District on ourstated meeting WB Wasson, as our Grand Lodgerepresentative’s brought with him fraternal and warmgreetings from the Grand Lodge of California. The secondwas the Master and Wardens Retreat at Olympic Valley inSouth Lake Tahoe, May 5th thru 7th. The retreat gave us theopportunity to meet our three Grand Pillar Officers and theGrand Junior Warden. With our busy agenda and little freetime we still managed to meet and socialize with ourcounterparts from different lodges. It is amazing for me toexperience a brother mason try to relate their problems tome. Again, as a brother mason, it seems that a youngerbrother in your family seeking advice from an older Brother.Late that evening, I came to think, these brethren are alsoconsidered the leaders of their respective lodges. Theseminar in general was well attended, very informative andwell organized but with a very fast pace schedule.

On May 15th we had brothers who provided us theirproficiency’s during our Proficiency Night: one first degree, three second degrees. The Lodge gave these brothers asatisfactory examinations and declared them proficient on thecandidates lecture. I must say Congratulations to all of youbrethren. I would like to take this opportunity to commend theunending support of our Junior Past Master, WB GuadalupeThomas of sharing his precious time with our candidates byproviding assistance as their Candidates Coach. AlsoCongratulations to Bro. Robert Molera, who passed thedegree of Fellowcraft on May 18, 2017.

The Naval Lodge luncheon for our Widow’s, I would like toexpress my profound gratitude to all our guests and friendsand of course to all the brothers who commit themselves andtheir assistance in making these events memorable to ourWidow’s.

Lastly, I offer my sincerest appreciation to WB Keith Wattles,to his dedication to aid and assist me while I am away fromlodge. Without hesitation nor second thought, I will cover youbrother. It is for this reason that I have nothing butadmiration and high esteem for kind hearted brothers like youwho share time and effort to save the under privilegedmember of our society.

Fraternally,Rollie Q. CaabaySenior Warden
