Why Rome?Art History is Here

Rome is one of the world’s most important historic, artistic, and cultural capitals. The city is called ‘eternal’ as it gave birth, more

powerfully than any other place, to what we call the Western World. Rome’s fascination is endless and, in it, one is constantly

surrounded by stunning architectural and artistic treasures from classical antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the

Baroque and more recent periods.

“LA DoLce VitA” is Here

While studying in Rome, students enjoy living in a major European city, with its countless bars, restaurants, discos, pubs and cafés.

Evenings can be spent enjoying a concert in one of Rome’s many churches or taking in a movie in either English or Italian.

Art and music festivals abound in the summer: “Estate Romana” (“Roman Summer”) is a series of open-air events including

concerts, theatre, music, films, and dancing, all to be enjoyed in the delightful evening air.

europe is Here

Rome’s location in central Italy works well for students who want to explore other Italian cities and Europe. Fast, economical

transportation connects you to most national and international destinations.

tHe WorLD is Here

Rome hosts students from all over the world who come to pursue studies notably in Italian language, history, and culture and in art

history and architecture. Such studies are of course facilitated by Rome’s superb libraries, archives, and museums.

Most of our students agree that Club Italiano Dante Alighieri offers a unique, affordable blend of personalized programs with a rich

cultural experience in one of the world’s greatest cities. Here, you will acquire memories lasting a lifetime.

And Why Sermoneta?continue your Journey into History

Sermoneta, with its Caetani Castle and its perfectly preserved medieval churches, is one of the most beautiful towns of Italy.

Film directors Roberto Benigni and Massimo Troisi have shot films here. Walking in Sermoneta’s picturesque alleys and piazzas,

you’ll feel that you have stepped through a time portal into another age of the world.

Sermoneta is home to the Gardens of Ninfa, which were voted “The Most Romantic Garden in the World” in 2014 by the New York

Times. The Gardens contain more than 13,000 species of plantlife as well as medieval ruins, towers, and frescos.

Here, you will have the chance to live in a small, enchanting, peaceful Italian community, speaking its language and learning

about its cuisine by visiting local pasta factories, participating in local wine tastings, and enjoying local products in Sermoneta’s

delightful restaurants.

Why the Dante Club?To Change Your PoinT of View

The courses we offer are experiences that will help you to develop a new understanding of the world and of its peoples, whatever

program of study you may choose to pursue.

To Learn To STudY and To grow

We encourage students to better learn how to study. The ability to study stems from students’ being grounded in life and being able

to redirect and redefine their own lives. They need to find spaces in which to study themselves and their own weak points if they are

to grow, to learn new things. We provide such spaces.

To exPerienCe CuLTuraL immerSion

Students benefit from our interactive lessons followed by experiences of cultural immersion. Cultural immersion allows them

to test themselves by applying the lessons they have learned in class to their everyday lives in Rome.

history of opera to the study of composers and operatic roles

and the analysis of musical performance, our classes allow

students of opera to delve deeply into that art form.

A master accompanist, vocal trainer, and diction instructor will

help to provide instruction. Through short lectures, listening,

musical analysis, score analysis and ongoing, individual study

and rehearsal of arias, students will learn key principles of

form, style, roles, and voice training. During the last week of

the program (4, 8 or 12 weeks), students will participate in a

15-hour workshop led by internationally acclaimed singers.

In this workshop, students will put into practice what they

have learned and prepare for an operatic role, which will be

performed and video recorded at the end of the course.
