VERSION EFFECTIVE DATE AMENDMENT (based on LMG corporate technical protocol)

LMG CORP/1.5/2012 December-12 INITIAL RELEASE

Tensile strength requirement has been removed from all babies / children categories upto 12

years

Tensile strength requirement for Adult Denim category (above 12 years) has been revised.

Formaldehyde requirement of less than 20 ppm has been enforced for all product categories

catering upto 12 years age group

Total lead content of less than 90 ppm has been enforced for all accessible scrapable surface

coatings

For Blended fabrics (including elastane) the acceptable tolerance limit is revised to +/- 3%

GPT 15 (Underwear) applicable for 100% Cotton content only. For other blends, GPT 16 is

applicable

GPT 18 (Socks) applicable for 95% Cotton or Nylon content only. For other blends, GPT 19 is

applicable

GPT 23 (Swimwear) Color fastness to chlorinated water is under optional test now

Azo Dyes testing is removed from mandatory list

32. General Note:



Testing instructions:For PU garments, no PVC should be detected.

Print durability will be applied only for garments having AOP (all over print), motif prints, embroidery, applique etc. For solid colors, this test should not be performed.

For full white/cream/ecru colors, there is no need to test colorfastness to Rubbing.




Seam strength should cover both shell & lining.

NO AZO dye test should be conducted for white color. AZO test will be applicable if White colour is treated with Optical whitener.

When applicable, conduct 3 colors in one AZO test.

In case of forbidden amine detection in a mixed test, a retest has to be conducted systematically on each color to find out the problematic color.

Garments having trims of more than 5% coverage, colorfastness to washing of trims should be performed.

For garments having lining, the lining will be evaluated for fiber analysis & color fastness to washing.

Children wear safety requirements (pH, formaldehyde & saliva) will be applied to all the colors, when different patterns / combinations submitted.

Pull test for children wear apparel to be conducted only on functional trims (buttons, snaps & rivets), not to be conducted on decorative trims & zippers.

33. Laboratory Responsibilities All Landmark samples should be evaluated according to agreed test package & requirement.

Lab to ensure that correct Landmark standards are being followed.

Labs are required to always include the following information in the test report:

- Image of the product

- Photograph of before wash & after wash of the merchandise

- Summary of the test repot should be on the cover page

- Report summary should clearly mention Pass/Fail status of the merchandise under the mandatory requirements.

- Care instruction in the care label ( provided by the supplier)

- Claimed fibre composition & fabric construction

- End use e.g. skirts, trousers etc

- Category e.g. adult / children / babies

Indicate if the test report is a resubmission

- shell and lining reports should be mentioned separately in the report

- for multiple colors, report should mention “A”, “B” etc for different colors

All test reports should have unique report number for traceability

For garments where fabric reports are already available, the gmt report should have a mention of the fabric evaluation report number

- Labs need to note any contrast fabric or trim used in the garment

- Test standards & specification needs mention along with test values

For garments with lining

· Indicate whether further processing will take place e.g. placement prints, garment washing etc.

· Request a test report to be delivered with the production fabric.

· Ensure all parameters in the test report conform to Landmark requirements before production.

Vendors are required to always include the following information in the test request form:
