The Diocese of St. Augustine’s First Rosary Congress is scheduled for September 27th - October 4th, in preparation for the 33rd Florida Respect Life Conference. (October 11th—12th)
To seek Our Lady’s intercession, and to pray for the protection of life, 9 parishes throughout the diocese will participate with a 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration.
Holy Family will host the Congress on Wednesday, October 2nd, following the 9:00 am Mass and continue through the night until 7:00 am.
If you wish to commit for an hour of Adoration between 8:00 pm (Wednesday, 10/2) and 6:30 am (Thursday, 10/3), please e-mail Renee, [email protected].
MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL TODAY! Sunday, September 15
th
After 11:30 am Mass, join us in the Parish Life Center and be immersed in a variety of cultural music, food, performances, dances, games, prizes, and more.
October is Respect Life Month. Calling to mind that all human life is sacred, we are planning a rose procession to be held at the 11:30 am Mass on Sunday, October 6th. Each
rose represents the lives lost to abortion each year since Roe v. Wade (1973) became law.
We are in need of volunteers to carry a rose in the procession. Contact Renee Hertz,[email protected]
Or Kevin Gartland, [email protected]), or visit holyfamilyjax.com/RespectLife.
St. Francis de Sales Women’s Reading Group will meet on Friday,
October 4th
, 10:00 - 11:30 am, in Room 211 of the Parish Life Center. We will be reading Meet Padre Pio by Patricia Treece. Read the book on your own and join us for discussion!
For more information or any questions, please contact Pilar Achem at [email protected] or Kathy Izzo at [email protected].

The Home Visitation Ministry of the St. Vincent de Paul Society is now receiving additional requests for home visits, and could really use more qualified volunteers. Our volunteers offer prayer and fellowship, share parish news, and help the sick and homebound to continue to feel connected to our parish.
If you have a homebound friend or family member who would benefit from a visit or if would like to volunteer to participate, please contact the Parish Office.

OPERATION MEANINGFUL LIFE
is a training program for the developmentally disabled, and in particular those with autism. It addresses the needs of this group of disabled individuals over their life span by enabling them to live a life of productivity and achievement. It's special emphasis is on those who have been categorized and labeled as "lower-functioning," by developing their abilities, rather than seeing only their disabilities.
For more information please e-mail [email protected].
To the parents of our young children:
Relax! All are welcome, even children who have a case of the wiggles; teach your children that they are welcome in God’s house. ... Sit where it is easier for the little ones to see and hear what is going on. … Model for them how to genuflect and make the Sign of the Cross when they get to the pew, and how to sit/kneel quietly in prayer before Mass. (Practice at home how to sit quietly.) … Quietly explain the parts of the Mass and actions of the priest and other ministers. Sing and Respond - aloud! … Feel free to step out to calm a fussy or wiggly child, but please come back!
To the members of our parish:
The presence of children is a gift to us and a reminder that our parish is growing. Please welcome our children with a smile, encourage their parents, and offer a helping hand if you can.
A message from the Pastor…
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Matt Hannigan has been promoted to the Director of Maintenance for Holy Family Parish. Matt has been working in the maintenance department for the previous 3 years under Mr.Tim Kennedy, who retired earlier this month.
We are also pleased to announce that Mr. David Hatcher has been hired as the new Facilities Assistant. We look forward to working with them.
What about Purgatory?
Please join a discussion on an often misunderstood teaching of our Catholic faith: Purgatory. The 7- week study begins on Wednesday September 25, after the 9:00 Mass in the Parish Life Center.
For more information contact Wendy Olson ([email protected]).
