Are you ready for a changing world?Today, there is no such thing as a “foreigner,” only those who can demonstrate global competencies and those who cannot.

At Appalachian you’ll learn how to be a traveler, not just a tourist. But global learning at App means going beyond traveling abroad. From your first year experience to your last day, you’ll be expected to develop as a global citizen. This means being a keen communicator who is culturally aware and understands that global problems require local solutions, and local solutions are best developed with a broad spectrum of voices.

See the world…

and see it again.

These alternative transportation options keep our carbon footprint low! And, if you need transportation off the mountain, there are several bus companies that can assist you with getting to Charlotte, Greensboro, and beyond.

Appalachian = ValueAppalachian has a national reputation for outstanding value. Our alumni laud the opportunities afforded them by their Appalachian degrees. Our out-of-state rates are comparable with the in-state tuition of many states. Even with low tuition, however, the cost of college is a concern for most families. Appalachian offers scholarships based on merit and need, as well as employment opportunities and financial aid packages so our students can focus on learning rather than debt.
