VISITING SCHOOLS CULTURE EXPERIENCES PROGRAM 11AM TO 3PM COST: A day of cultural experiences hosted at your school $440 FOR BOOKINGS CONTACT: Jida Gulpilil (M) 0497 589 839 ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS: This day offers students and teachers cultural activities that include boomerang and spear throwing linking ochre and storytelling of Dja Dja Wurrung history connection to Country identity and hands on informative and educational activities. Local dreamtime stories linking the stars, totems and creation are reanimated through performing arts led by Jida and his family group through ochre, storytelling, costume design, Dja Dja Wurrung language, music, song and dance. BIOGRAPHY: Jida Gulpilil has over thirty years of sharing his cultural experiences and knowledge through art, music, dance, performance art, storytelling and tourism. Jida has developed cultural education programs for schools experiencing the Coastal Marine Parks of the Bellarine Peninsula, the Yarra River in the Melbourne CBD, CERES Environmental Park to Kakadu National Park and East Arnhem Land in Northern Territory, Lake Boga and the Murray River from Swan Hill to Gunbower State Forest, Barmah State Forest to the Upper Murray River region onto the Australian Alps. Gulpilil’s Australia, through the connection of Jida’s family of the Dja Dja Wurrung people and Country, is offering schools in Central Victoria a full day of cultural education programs and activities. ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS: This day offers students and teachers a cultural day that includes

• local Dja Dja Wurrung language

• song and dance

• welcome ceremony

• nature based tourism - canoeing, bushwalking and boat cruise to view the diverse range of Dja Dja Wurrung cultural heritage sites

• boomerang and spear throwing

• ochre and storytelling.

Any school group that participates in Country experience at the Boort Lakes is provided with an official certificate of acknowledgement of Country with Gulpilil’s Australia at Boort on Dja Dja Wurrung Country.
