Coalition charged to identify, prioritize, and
strategize issues of access and disparity within the
senior population. The 48-member Workgroup consists
of the leadership and constituency of key geriatric
services providers in Denton County, Texas.
Consultant functions include grant proposal writing,
data development, and key informant interviews to
improve the delivery of geriatric care services.
6/00 -- Present Evaluation Design: Senior Citizen Services of
Tarrant County and Institute for Mediation in Aging.
Solicited to design utilization and outcomes-focused
evaluation survey instrument; provided data analyses
of survey results for agency funding 26 multi-purpose
senior centers. Results are used to justify
continued funding and to pilot the development of
additional research funding. Study results have been
accepted for journal publication.

Texas Institute for Research and Education on Aging (TIREA). This

Applied to Critical Societal Problems: How Well Does It Work?" An
invited panel session conducted October 1995 at the 17th annual
meeting of the Southwest Society on Aging in Albuquerque.
This session discussed ways of utilizing senior volunteers to
improve the impact of voluntarism upon solving critical
community social problems. I presented a typology for data
development and a methodology for analyzing volunteer impacts
on priority community social problems. This presentation was
based upon unpublished research which I conducted in a project to
determine the feasibility for developing a volunteer center for
Denton County.

Demographics and Including Older Adults with Developmental
Disabilities." A seminal research paper, refereed by national
academic and professional leaders in aging and mental retardation,
and chosen for presentation in Houston at an opening session of
the national White House Conference on Aging's Mini-Conference
Relating to Persons with Mental Retardation. This cornerstone
paper identifies problems, barriers, and potential solutions
associated with providing community services to older persons with
developmental disabilities. Also, it presents a planning
methodology for projecting the future service needs and
requirements for this population. It was published in a post-
conference report submitted to the White House Conference on
Aging, Office of the President of the United States.
