Day 1 (Friday): Lao Cai - Sapa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai Village (B, L, )

6 : 00 Am - Arrive to Lao Cai train station. Welcome by your local guide and driver. Take a drive of 40km to your hotel in Sapa town. Have breakfast in restaurant. The guide will help you to put your bags in the Hotel luggage store then take you to explore Sapa town. Back to the Hotel for check in. Have lunch. After lunch, a walk down to the South-West of Sapa (around 4km), pass through the market to the sealed pathways to Cat Cat village. This twisty beautiful vista road leads you to stairs where we descend to the centre of the Black H'mong’s village then keep going down to the Cat Cat waterfall. This is a chance to see the hydroelectric power station established by the French. You can swim in the small river if weather permits. Walk along by the river about 6km to visit Sin Chai, the village located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here you can enjoy




huge stunning landscapes before climbing up to the road back to Sapa. You have free time to have dinner and to explore Sapa town at night. Overnight at hotel in Sapa town.

Just a couple of kilometers from town are two large, beautiful caves and the ruins of the Mac Dynasty Citadel that are worth a visit. Hoi An is well known for its enthusiastic tailors, its art galleries, and its narrow streets crammed with tiny wooden cafes. There is plenty to do in and around the port town, including a cycle trip past the paddy fields to the beach. But this peaceful rural scene belies the terrible destruction and defoliation caused by bombing and mines when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone". The best way to experience Mekong Delta's endless waterways is none other than an overnight cruise. This morning, leave Ho Chi Minh City for the 2.5-hour drive to the delta town of Cai Be. DAY 3 (B-L-D): Sapa Trekking - Homestay5.30am Arrive in Lao Cai. The bus ride uphill to SaPa takes a little over an hour, giving you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. You'll have breakfast in a local Restaurant, then meet with our local guide. Walk down through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van. The trekking route offers some challenge as you balance on the rice terraces and a small trail on the steep mountainside. The vegetation is dense as the trail leads up to a peaceful village perched on the Hoang Lien mountainside, relax by a local stream for a picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight in homestay at Ta Van village.

DAY 4 (B-L): Sapa - Night train back to HanoiAfter breakfast, you will walk to the meeting point where our driver is waiting to take you back to SaPa. Relax, see Sapa town and Sapa market.6.00pm - Bus transfer to Lao Cai;8.20pm - Night train back to Hanoi (soft sleeperwith air conditioning).




DAY 5 (L-D): Hanoi - Halong BayArrive Hanoi around 5 : 00 am in the morning. Pick up at the Railway Station. Drive to Halong city, stop on the way for breakfast . Arrive in Ha Long city around lunch time, go directly to the tourist harbour and board the Junk. Check in. Have lunch then cruise to visit Ha Long Bay, Sung Sot cave, Ti Top Beach, enjoy sunset, drinks. Have dinner on the junk, and over night on the junk. ( Optional : Kayaking ).

DAY 6 (B-L): Halong Bay - Tam Coc (Ninh Binh)Have breakfast. Visit man's head island, Tortoise island, Toad island, Bai tho mountain. Have lunch on the junk. Back to Ha Long wharf. Drive 3 hours to Tam Coc in Ninh Binh province. Over night at the hotel in Tam Coc.

DAY 7 (B-L): Tam Coc - Hoa Lu - HanoiAfter breakfast at the hotel in Tam Coc, take a sampan boat on a river through the rice paddies to the grottoes of the sacred Tam Coc Caves. Enormous limestone karsts jut out from the green rice fields giving rise to this place's other name, 'Halong bay in Land'. Back to the hotel, have a shower then check out. Lunch in the restaurant. After lunch, you will do a short biking trip about 10km from Tam Coc to Hoa Lu ancient capital of Vietnam in 10th century. Visit the two remaining sanctuaries of the ancient citadel.The Car pick up then drive back to Hanoi (2 hours).

After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the struggle for independence. You will return to Ho Chi Minh City later in the afternoon.

DAY 4 (B/L): Ho Chi Minh city - MeKong delta - Ho Chi Minh cityIn the morning, leave Ho Chi Minh City for the Mekong Delta town of Cai Be, where you will board the Cai Be Princess boat for a tour of the Delta. Proceed to visit some local cottage industries before continuing to Dong Phu, Binh Hoa Phuong and Anh Binh; these evergreen islands on the Mekong River combine large networks of meandering rivers, crossed with countless arroyos. Lunch will await you at a superb colonial style villa located in a quaint village before boarding the boat once again for a tour of the landscapes along the river. After crossing the Co Chien, the boat will dock and from where you will head back to Ho Chi Minh City by road.

DAY 5 (B): Ho Chi Minh city - Da LatTransfer to Ho Chi Minh City's domestic airport for your flight to Dalat. Established as a hill station at the beginning of the century, Dalat's French chalets and pine forests are more reminiscent of an alpine village than a town in Southeast Asia. An afternoon of sightseeing in Dalat takes in the art deco former summer residence of Emperor Bao Dai, the old Dalat Railway Station, Xuan Huong Lake, the Central Market and Lam Ty Ni Pagoda where a Buddhist monk, Vien Thuc, produces abstract paintings and writes poetry.

DAY 6 (B): Da Lat - Phan Rang - Nha TrangLeaving for Nha Trang after breakfast, you will visit the 13th century Po Klong Jarai Cham Towers perched high on a rocky hill surrounded by prickly pear cacti. After Phan Rang, travel through vivid green rice fields and salt ponds to Nha Trang, where an afternoon tour of the city includes the Po Nagar Cham Towers and Long Son Pagoda with its enormous white Buddha statue.

DAY 7 (B, L): Nha TrangA morning boat trip on Nha Trang Bay visits some of the nearby islands where you will have the opportunity to swim and snorkel in the clear warm waters. After a fresh seafood lunch, return to shore. In the afternoon, explore Nha Trang at your own pace.

DAY 8 (B): Nha Trang - Hoi AnTransfer to Nha Trang's domestic airport for your flight to Danang. From here transfer to Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries with a relaxed lifestyle that has changed little over the years. In the afternoon, take a tour of the ancient town centre to visit the homes of former merchants, the 400 year-old Japanese

DAY 9 (B, L): Hoi An - My Son - Tra Kieu - Hoi AnToday there is a half day trip to the capital and religious centre of the former Champa Kingdom, My Son. Set in a lush green valley, dozens of red brick towers and sanctuaries dating from between the 7th and 13th centuries provide a breathtaking site.On the way back to Hoi An stop to visit Tra Kieu, formerly known as Simhapura or the Lion Citadel, that once stood as the capital of Champa between the 4th and 8th centuries. On returning to Hoi An, the afternoon is free to relax, browse for souvenirs in art galleries and silk shops, or maybe cycle to the nearby Cua Dai Beach.

DAY 10 (B): Hoi An - Da Nang - HueLeave Hoi An for Hue by road, passing through Danang where you will visit the Cham museum, which holds the finest collection of Cham artwork in the country. After your visit, drive over the Pass of Ocean Clouds before dropping down to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co.Then, you will reach Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam, to visit the ancient Forbidden City from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945.

DAY 11 (B): Hue - Boat tripAfter breakfast, take a boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River to visit Hue's best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda, as well as the mausoleum of former Emperor Minh Mang. In the afternoon, visit the elaborate mausoleums of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. Enjoy some free time in Hue to explore its small streets and the Dong Da market.

DAY 12 (B): Hue - HanoiTransfer to Hue's airport for the short flight to Hanoi. Explore Vietnam's capital by an escorted, full-day city tour. Tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples make for a unique blend of east and west in this beautiful city. DAY 14 (B): Hanoi - Traditional Villages - Night train to Sapa


Today, you will have a visit to Bat Trang ceramic village. After that you'll see Dong Ho traditional paper village, where 'giay do' paper is produced and painted. All the paper is made by hand and some still in the traditional method using only natural products. Then a visit to the But Thap old pagoda.In the afternoon visit Dong Ky wood village, where furniture inlaid with mother of pearl is made. Return to Hanoi before boarding the night train to Lao Cai (Sapa, North-western Vietnam).

DAY 15 (B/L): SapaYou will arrive at Lao Cai train station in the early morning. From Lao Cai the road winds up the terraced hillsides to Sapa, a former French hill resort and home to some of Vietnam's most diverse ethnic groups.On arrival in Sapa, you will be transferred to your hotel for breakfast and the chance to freshen up. A morning walking tour of Sapa visits the busy market, whilst the afternoon visit features some nearby hill tribe villages.

DAY 16 (B): Sapa - HanoiIn the morning enjoy a light trek to discover Sapa's lesser-known areas. Have the chance to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of mountain rice terraces, waterfalls and buffalo at work. Crossing rivers by suspended bridges you will witness people toiling the fields in Vietnam's traditional way before a free afternoon discover Sapa by yourself. Return to Lao Cai for the onward journey back to Hanoi by overnight train.

DAY 17 (B/L/D): Hanoi - Halong bayOn arrival at Hanoi train station, you will be served breakfast before heading to Halong Bay. Enjoy the great scenery of the surrounding farmlands of the Red River Delta including rice fields, water buffalo and everyday Vietnamese village life.On arrival in Halong, you will board the luxury Indochina Sail cruise. Halong Bay covers an area of 1,500 km over which thousands of limestone islands and grottoes rise from the clear emerald waters of the Gulf of Bac Bo. DAY 6 (B): Visit to Cat Cat villageThe next morning, you'll arrive in Lao Cai, and a minibus will be waiting to take you to Sapa- a 1½-hour road trip. On the way, you'll see paddy terraces climbing up the mountainsides like giant staircases. When you reach Sapa you'll check into your comfortable hotel. It is full of local charm and lies in the centre of town, with wonderful views across the rich, green valley. After lunch you'll take a guided walk of about 5km to the village of Cat Cat, home to the striking Black H’mong people. The Black H'mong wear mainly black clothing, as their name suggests. The dye that they use tends to run and, as a result, their hands are also stained a little black. The adults chew betel nut- the seeds of the betel palm rolled up in a leaf. This often stains their teeth dark red. After visiting the village, you'll walk a little further to a cascading mountain waterfall before returning to Sapa for the night.

DAY 7 (B,L,D): Trek to Lao Chai, Ta Van villages and homestay After breakfast you'll walk down through the villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van. Relax, see Sapa town and Sapa market. At the end of the afternoon, you'll be taken to Lao Cai where you'll have plenty of time to grab an evening meal before boarding the night train back to Hanoi.

DAY 9 (L,D): Hanoi - Cuc Phuong National parkYou'll arrive back in Hanoi at around 6am. Our driver and tour guide pick up you at the railway station. Drive to Cuc Phuong national park (130km). Stop on the way for breakfast.Arrive at national park at around 9am. Visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre to learn about the important work being done to help protect the endangered species of the park. After that drive 20km to the center of the park and then take a 2-hour trek through the old rainforest. Lunch at the restaurant inside the park.You can choose to stay overnight at the guesthouse inside the park or we can drive you 60km back to Ninh Binh and stay overnight at the hotel in Tam Coc.

DAY 10 (B/L): Hoa Lu , Tam Coc - Hanoi


Leave Cuc Phuong national park for Hoa Lu (1.5 hrs). Visit the ancient capital of Vietnam and the famous old temples of The Dinh and The Le Dynasties. Cycle for an hour on picturesque quiet roads through villages, rice fields, rivers and rocky outcrops to Tam Coc (12km) for lunch.Boat journey (1 hour) in the heart of “Inland Ha Long Bay”. Take in the beauty of the karsts formations as you pass along their base and row into three of the many caves carved through the limestone. Stop for a short rest near a small shrine before returning to dock (1 hour).Drive back to Hanoi.

DAY 11 (B): Hanoi - Hué You'll arrive in Hué by plane from Hanoi. It is an ancient city renowned for its Citadel that is encased within a square of walls 10km long and 2m thick. Hué was home to the Nguyen dynasty, and the seat of their power. The city is divided into two halves by the Perfume River. One side is home to the Imperial Citadel, while the French colonial town with most of the hotels and restaurants is situated on the opposite bank. We have left the programme empty for your first day in Hue, giving you plenty of time to settle in and explore the city.

DAY 12 (B,L,D): Perfume River and a Forbidden City tour (B,L,D) Start by taking a leisurely boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. Constructed in 1601, the 21-meter tall tower is the centerpiece of the pagoda and a symbol of the city. Continue to The Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. After exploring the ruins of this wonderful monument depart to the Mausoleum of Tu Duc. Built decades before its occupant's death, the tomb was used as a palace retreat before its final use as the emperor's resting Hue Vietnam place. Finish up the day at Khai Dinh's Tomb which is traditional Vietnamese in design but accented with a European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Enjoy Royal Party Dinner at Royal Park Restaurant.

DAY 13 (B): Hué - Hoi An Today you'll arrive in Hoi An, a real highlight of your Vietnam trip. Situated in the central region, the historical town is a perfect place to break up the journey from north to south. It is popular with backpackers who are drawn here by the wide range of quirky restaurants and cafes, the inexpensive tailors, and the lovely nearby beach.

There is plenty to do in and around Hoi An. You can get measured up for a suit, or pedal about town on a rented pushbike. You could also cycle past the paddy fields to the sandy beach. Choose a spot under a thatched parasol with a book and some freshly sliced pineapple. At sunset, the local people flock to the beach to cool off and play some football after a long day at work.

DAY 14 (B,L): My Son Holy land


In the morning : go by coach to My Son Sanctuary, a religious sanctuary of the once flourishing Champa Kingdom from the 4th century. On the way visit local villagers who breed silkworms and weave silk.In the afternoon: take a boat trip on the graceful Thu Bon river and stop to visit the traditional ceramic and carpentry villages.

DAY 15 (B,L): Cham island - 8.30 am : Pickup and tranfer to Cua Dai pier- 9.00-9.30 am : Relax & enjoy the beautiful landscape on the speed boat to Cham Island- 9.30-10.10 am : Visit Bai Lang ( Au thuyen - Tay Tang Pagoda - Fishing Village)- 10.10-11.10 am : Tranfer to Bai Xep for snorkeling. DAY 17 (B,L): Cao Dai temple - Cu Chi Tunnels The Great Holy See Temple, built in 1926, is considered one of the most striking structures in all of south-east Asia. It is the centre of Caodaism, a religion that blends Buddhism, Christianity and Confucianism. Explore this fascinating site and attend the colorful noon-day mass held by the Cao Dai followers. It is an experience not to be missed. After lunch, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. Cu Chi is a tranquil place of rice paddy fields with ducks and water buffalos bathing in the rivers alongside the road. But this peaceful rural scene belies the terrible destruction and defoliation caused by bombing and mines when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone". Cu Chi still contains plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here and all over this area you will find the remnants of war

DAY 18 (B/L/D): Saigon - Mekong Delta overnight on boatMekong Delta, where the mighty Mekong River approaches and fans out into the sea, is a colorful and vibrant region. Deemed as the rice bowl of Vietnam, it is home to a complex system of distributaries and is dotted with countless rice fields, fruit orchards, handicraft villages and floating markets. The best way to experience Mekong Delta's endless waterways is none other than an overnight cruise. This morning, leave Ho Chi Minh City for the 2.5-hour drive to the delta town of Cai Be.


On arrival, board your boat for an overnight cruise. Start in Cai Be floating market where traders have been living on the delta waters for generations. After visiting the market, continue cruising the distributaries where lunch will be served en-route. Along the way admire the scenery and daily life of the local villagers. Dinner and overnight on board your boat on the Mekong Delta.

DAY 19 (B/L): Mekong Delta - Saigon This morning, cruise to Cai Rang floating market, taking in the traditional sights such as rice barges, traditional shipyards and tropical fruits drying along the river banks along the way. After a visit to the colorful floating market, check out and disembark before the return to Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 20 (B,L): Saigon - Mui Ne Leave Ho Chi Minh City by road for Phan Thiet. The scenic 200km drive north on Highway One passes through the bustling city of Bien Hoa before cutting through dense rubber plantations. Nearer to Phan Thiet the terrain changes to arid semi-desert with cactus plants and strange looking dragon fruit trees. Arrive in Phan Thiet in the late morning and check into resort. The rest of day is free to relax by the pool or on the sandy beach. Overnight in Mui Ne.

DAY 21 (B): Mui Ne A full day at leisure in the resort or on the beach. For the more active, golf is available nearby. Overnight in Mui Ne.

Day 7. Cao Dai temple – Cu Chi tunnels (B,L)

Enjoy a morning drive through typical southern Vietnamese countryside to Tay Ninh Province in the west of Vietnam to visit the Cao Dai Great Temple. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the struggle for independence. You will return to Ho Chi Minh City later in the afternoon.

Day 8. Saigon – Mekong delta over night on boat. (B,L,D)

This morning, leave Ho Chi Minh City for the 2.5-hour drive to the delta town of Cai Be. On arrival, board your boat for an overnight cruise. Start in Cai Be floating market where traders have been living on the delta waters for generations. After visiting the market, continue cruising the distributaries where lunch will be served en-route. Along the way admire the scenery and daily life of the local villagers. Dinner and overnight on board your boat on the Mekong Delta.

Day 9. Mekong delta – Saigon – night train to Nha Trang (B,L)

This morning, cruise to Cai Rang floating market, taking in the traditional sights such as rice barges, traditional shipyards and tropical fruits drying along the river banks along the way. After a visit to the colorful floating market, check out and disembark before the return to Ho Chi Minh City. Take night train to Nha Trang, AC soft sleeper, 4 persons/cabin.

Day 10. Nha Trang

We arrive early morning to Nha Trang: one of Vietnam's most attractive coastal towns, with its charm derived from a harmonious combination of mountains, islands, sea and sand. We take an afternoon cyclo tour to explore Nha Trang and its surrounds.

Day 11. Boat trip to visit offshore islands (B,L)

Breakfast at your hotel. Take the morning boat trip to visit the off shore islands with the Mun Mot island, visit the Tri Nguyen Aquarium. Lunch on the Tam island. Free for swimming. Return to Nha Trang.

Day 12. Nha Trang – Hoi An (B)

Breakfast at your hotel. Free until transfer to Cam Ranh airport for boarding to Danang on flight No VN 336 ( 12 : 05 – 13 : 20 ). Pick up and transfer to Hoi An Ancient town. Free at leisure in the afternoon.


Day 13. Hoi An walking tour – My Son Holy land – Hoi An (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. Starting early in the morning with the morning market. Afterward stroll around the town, visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, the temples and pagodas of Chinese appearance. Afternoon- visit Myson holy land. Then back to Hoi An for overnight.

Day 14. Relax in Hoi An (B)

You can explore yourself this pretty town or just relax on the beach. If you want we can arrange a cooking class or a full day trip to Cham island.

Day 15. Hoi An – Hue (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel. Depart for Hue via Danang, visit the Marble mountain, the Cham museum. Stop for photos at the Hai Van pass. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, Visit Dong Ba market, the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, the ruins of the Purple Forbidden City. Enjoy the dinner cruise and night boat trip with the Hue folks songs performance.

Day 16. Boat trip in Hue (B,L)

Breakfast at hotel. Morning: boat ride on Perfume River to visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Minh Mang Tomb. Lunch at nice local restaurant. Afternoon: continue to visit Tu Duc and Khai Dinh's Tombs

Day 17. Hue – Hanoi (B)

We fly from Hue to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, a charming city of about 6 millions people famous for its beautiful lakes, shaded boulevards and public parks. We have time to freshen up here before heading off to tour the fascinating Old Quarter, the Temple of Literature and the Fine Arts Museum.

Day 18. Hanoi – Halong bay, overnight on boat (B,L,D)

Pick up from your hotel at around 8 : 00 am in the morning. Drive to Halong city, stop on the way for breakfast . Arrive in Ha Long city around lunch time, go directly to the tourist harbour and board the Huong Hai junk. Check in. Have lunch then cruise to visit Ha Long Bay, Sung Sot cave, Ti Top Beach, enjoy sunset, drinks. Have dinner on the junk, and over night on the junk.


Day 19. Halong bay – Hanoi (B,L)

After your breakfast, you'll hop into a small bamboo boat to explore Luon Cave. Start cruising to visit man's head island, Tortoise island, Toad island, Bai tho mountain. Lunch will be served aboard the junk during the return to the mainland and, at Halong, drive back to Hanoi.

Day 20. Hanoi – Departure
