Who does the shopping in your family? Where do they do the shopping?

Most people do their shopping in a local supermarket. Supermarket is a large self-service shop selling all kinds of food and household goods. It is often part of a chain that owns and runs supermarkets in other towns. Before you go to the supermarket, its a good idea to make a shopping list (= list of all the things you want to buy).

At the entrance you get a shopping trolley (cart) or a shopping basket.

Then you push your trolley around the supermarket and put the products in it.

Various products are separated into different sections/aisles, so that you can easily find everything you need.
