From the moment we wake up in the morning to the moment we lie down to sleep at night, how does the death of Christ on the cross transform every single detail of our day? The Bible says, “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). So how do we do that? And how does the cross of Christ inevitably enable us to do that? During this Secret Church, as we explore the implications of the death of Christ for our daily lives, we will discover the exhilarating joy that is found in fol- lowing Jesus to the glory of God on a moment-by- moment, day-by-day basis. Calvary Family,

I am very pleased to be able to share with you some wonderful news. For over a year, we have been searching for a person to lead our children and families ministry. Many of you have diligently prayed with us to this end, and we are grateful for that. I am especially thankful to our Personnel Committee (Char-lie Brannen, Michael Byrd, Lucinda Harrison, Leslie Watson, Rick Rikard, and Kent Nunnally) for their perseverance and diligence during this search and in-terview process. As a result of that diligence, our prayers, and the leadership of God’s Spirit, we have decided to bring Michael Brooks to Calvary this weekend in view of a call to be our new Pastor for Children and Families. Michael and his wife Rashele will be available in the Parlor on Friday evening from 6:00-7:30 for you to come by and meet them. On Sunday morning during the Life Group hour, Michael will be speaking and offering a Q&A session for all parents of children up through 6th grade in the Chapel (children’s worship area). Michael will also be sharing on Sunday morning in both services.

Here’s a brief bio of Michael:

Michael is married to Rashele and has a daughter, Beth, and two sons, Silas and Jude. He has a B.A. in Pastoral Ministry from Clear Creek Baptist College, a Mas-ters of Religious Education and a Masters of Divinity in Professional Ministries from Liberty University Theological Seminary, and will soon complete a Doc-tor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Union University. His current position is Minister to Students (K-12th) at East Union Baptist Church in Jackson, TN.

Again, I am thankful to God for leading us to this moment of decision and am very excited about the potential of welcoming Michael, Rashele, Beth, Silas, and Jude to the Calvary family.

For God’s Glory,

Pastor Paul
