In our weekly meeting on December 22, 2017, as in previous

years, it was a pleasant task for Chairman Club Elections IPP

Amarjit Singh to announce the unanimous results for the

Board of Directors of our club for Rotary year 2018-19.

Puri thanked all Rotarians for

reposing faith in him to lead

our prestigious club. He also

thanked his wife R’ann Sudha

for always being the force

behind him, and also

supporting him for Rotary

projects. He said there would

be additional program for all

Rotarians at their place doing

the same project on July 01, 2018 - Annapurna and Swachh

Bharat. He also mentioned about golden jubilee celebrations

of his graduation from Punjab Engineering College in

February 2019 during his tenure as our club President. He

also highlighted other projects during the year. He expressed

his gratitude to all Rotarians for their support in his joyful

journey of our club.

Bali presented a brief resume

of his Rotary Journey of eight

years, immediately after

returning from wonderful GSE

Program in USA. A graduate

of Rotary Leadership Academy,

he had great learning experience

as a member of the board since 2013, serving as Secretary in

2014-15, Vice President for last two years and Addl. District

Secretary in 2016-17. He enjoyed doing large number of

projects during these years including the prestigious project of

the current year for providing electricity to remote Himalayan

Villages through Solar Energy, trekking down to these remote

high altitude villages in the Himalayas along with Rotarians of

Edwards Club of USA. He thanked all members of our club

for reposing their valued faith and confidence in him.

600 units collected in Blood Donation Camp

On 24/12/2017 it was birthday of Rtn. Ravinder Krishan who

organized a Blood Donation camp at his Ravindra Farms, Village

Kot Billa, near Ramgarh. PP D.P. Khandelia, President Dr. Rita

Kalra, PP Subhash Bindra, PP B.L. Ramsisaria and Rtn. Anil

Nagpal joined him for this noble cause. Over 600 units collected!

Woman Safety on 23/12/17

President Dr. Rita Kalra participated in

Women safety workshop at Nari

Niketan, Chandigarh

Multi Speciality Medical and Dental checkup with Free Treatment

The camp was attended by 173 patients and 50 children from Maloya colony. 58 patients

received dental treatments including scaling and fillings. The patients were mostly cases of

skin ailments (70%), osteoporosis and arthritis (10%), chronic gastritis (10%) and rest

were hypertension, diabetes, hypothyroidism, anemia etc. The children were given demo

of brushing and talk on good oral hygiene by Rtn. Dr. Sanjay Kalra. They also attended

the hand washing demo given by Arush son of Rtn. Dr. Nitin Mathur.

The camp was attended by team of dentists, hygienists along with mobile dental van

‘Smile Express’ from Rtn. Dr. Sanjay Kalra's Dental Clinic. Other specialists who rendered

service were Dr. Y.M. Aggarwal, Rtn. Dr. Nitin Mathur, Dr. R.K. Sharma and President Dr. Rita Kalra. The camp also had

useful presence of PE Ashok Puri who meticulously coordinated the event, PP Prem Anand, PP Kanan Diwan, PDG

Yoginder Diwan, IPP Amarjit Singh and R’ann Sunita who brought home made snacks for the participants and also the

students of adult school and sewing centre. Rotarians also celebrated Christmas with RCC Maloya who enthusiastically

presented a cultural program. Gifts were sponsored by our club.
