ELECTRONIC CONTROL S Y S T E M

The Electronic Control System of yourSub-Zero Wine Storage unit gives you themost accurate temperature control for yourpeace of mind. You can be assured your wineis stored at the temperature you have selected, whether it is long-term aging or staging winefor consumption that evening.

A microprocessor accurately samples thetemperature every second in each zone to besure the temperatures stay within one degreeof your preset temperatures. It also monitorsthe unit’s operation and will let you know ifservice may be necessary.

T E M P E R AT U R E C O N T R O L

With all Wine Storage models you have thecapability of setting two distinct temperatureswithin the two zones of your Wine Storageunit. Your model has been thoroughly testedand inspected before it was shipped from thefactory. The temperature has been preset at45˚F (7˚C) in the top zone and 55˚F (13˚C) in thebottom zone.

There are two sets of WARMER and COLDERkey pads on the control panel, one for each ofthe two separate temperature zones. An arrownext to the temperature in the LED display, willindicate which temperature corresponds witheach zone. Refer to the illustration below.

The COLDER key pad on the control panelallows you to decrease the temperature in thecorresponding zone by one degree each timeyou depress the key pad. Remember that thetemperature range in each zone is 38˚F (3˚C) to65˚F (18˚C) and you can set two differenttemperatures—one for each zone.

Similar to the COLDER key pad, you can raisethe temperature in the corresponding zone byone degree each time you depress theWARMER key pad on the control panel.

CLEANING

S TA I N L E S S S T E E L E X T E R I O R

Classic and platinum stainless steelfinishes: To clean the exterior of the classicand platinum stainless steel finishes, use asoft, nonabrasive stainless steel cleaner likeSignature Polish and apply with a soft 100%lint-free cloth.

Carbon stainless steel finish: Carbonstainless steel can be cleaned with mild soapand water.

The carbon stainless steel finish uses theinterest of brushed steel to bring out themaximum metallic luster of its charcoalbackground. Different light types and sourcelocations can result in variations in shading ondifferent components and areas of large appli-ances. These variations are normal with thecarbon finish and add to the unique characterof colored stainless steel.

To bring out the natural luster of all threefinishes, lightly wipe the surface with a water-dampened microfiber cloth followed by a drypolishing chamois. All work should follow thegrain direction of the finish. Better results areobtained by keeping the cloth in continuouscontact with the stainless steel.

G L A S S D O O R C L E A N I N G

The glass door panel can be cleaned using anystandard glass cleaner available on the markettoday.

I N T E R I O R C L E A N I N G

To clean interior surfaces and removable parts, wash with a mild solution of soap and luke-warm water with a little baking soda. Do notuse vinegar. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoidgetting water on lights, control panel and thesolid cherry wood facing on the shelves.

Do not use abrasive cleaners or cloths on anyof the interior or exterior surfaces, includingthe glass door panel.

Under no circumstances should you usea metallic or highly abrasive cleaner orcloth, as this will remove the carbonfinish or scratch the classic or platinumfinishes.

STORING A N D SERVING W I N E

There is a right way to store and serve wine. And there is a wrong way. The Sub-Zero WineStorage equipment is committed to the rightway. Wine enthusiasts know that wine, opti-mally, likes to be stored for long periods oftime in caves that are vibration free, dark, damp and kept at a constant 55˚F (13˚C).However, how many of us have these situa-tions available?

When you think about wine, think aboutpreserving fruit and the fact that you mustrefrigerate it at the proper temperature beforeit spoils. After all, wine is the juice of grapes inits simplest interpretation.

Wine needs to be selected and cared forproperly. The wine aficionado knows thatproper storage will ensure the wine is servedat the best conditions.

You have taken the extra step to ensure thatyour wine is kept in the best possible environ-ment by purchasing your Sub-Zero WineStorage unit. Now how you use the unit is upto you.

You can devote the entire Wine Storage unit tolong-term storage and have the temperatureset to 55˚F (13˚C) in both zones—the idealtemperature for long-term storage or aging. If, however, you want to devote only a smallportion of the unit to that feature, you canadjust the temperature in the smaller zone tolong-term storage and adjust the other temper-ature zone to accommodate the wine you willbe enjoying soon.

The temperature in this zone can be anythingyou choose. Sure, there are ideal temperaturesfor serving wine, but it is very subjective, witheveryone’s palate reacting differently to differ-ent temperatures.

The chart on the following page offers someuniversally accepted storing and servingtemperatures for the most common winesconsumed today.

Enjoy the wine and your Sub-Zero WineStorage unit. And thank you for your trust inSub-Zero.
