PROJECT STATEMENT

The Washington State Lottery has hired me to create a mobile application. They want the app to give the presence of the the brand so that it is correctly associated as “the” actual Washington State Lottery app. The details I have been given are that this app is to make it possible for people to have the capability to check the winning

numbers for different games, contain information about the games available, and to allow people to check the tickets they have purchased to see if they have won anything.

OBJECTIVES

• Create an Android app that is easily attributed as the Washington State Lottery app.

• Create a UI that speaks to the target audience.

•Make it clear what each aspect of the application is for.

• Research possibilities of the application that can be implemented into the UI.

•Make it easy to flow through the application and get back to any certain area without losing interest.

OBSTACLES

• Input of proper information about each section without an overload of content.

• Creating a layout that is functional for multiple Android devices.

• Gaining enough legal information to make sure that I am not breaking any rules that will conflict with the activity of the app or the people using it.

•Maintaining the look and feel of the Washington State Lottery.

SOLUTIONS

• Focus on Designing the app for the Samsung Galaxy S3/S4 as there is a large popularity among this Android style of phones and other Android devices share similarities.

• Focus on certain aspects of the application being used more so for a ticket checker(barcode scanner 1D) and winning numbers information.

• Add a favorites section to the app so that people can decide on the way they customize parts of the layout. For instance changing the app “Home screen” to one or more particular winning game numbers or the scanner.

• Create certain sections as links to a mobile version of the website so that there is not an overload of unnecessary information in the app itself.
