PROGRAM MEMBERSHIPYou can register for programs as a Facility Member orProgram Only Member. Facility Members pay monthly duesand receive both unlimited access to all Metro AtlantaYMCAs and priority registration privileges with reducedrates. Program Only Members pay a yearly registration feeof $40 for the family plus the program rate per Y program.Program memberships do not include access to the facility.

GOOD MEASURE MEALS™

Good Measure Meals™ offers healthy, nutritionally balancedmeals for fitness conscious individuals, people with specialdietary requirements due to health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure or abnormal body fat levelsand busy professionals. Five- or seven-day meal plans areavailable in four daily calorie levels ranging from 1,200 to2,100. They also offer a vegetarian menu. MEMBER REFERRAL PROGRAMHere’s a great way for you and a friend tosave on a facility membership. The YMCAoffers a member referral program. After youjoin, you have the opportunity to refer a newmember to the YMCA. When they join anyMetro Atlanta YMCA facility, your member-ship rate and the referred member’s rate willbe reduced up to 20%, depending on the typeof membership, as long as both you and thereferred member keep an active membership.

To get started, you will need an emailaddress on file with us. After joining, you willreceive an email within 4-10 days containinga link. Follow the instructions that come upand once the referred member joins, you will automatically start seeing a reduction in yourmonthly rate on your next billing cycle.

GUEST PASS POLICYOur first priority is serving members. Weencourage members to invite guests to sharethe YMCA membership experience. Guests canutilize the facility one day per year by printing out a guest pass on our website, ymcaatlanta.org. Members 18+ can bring twoguests per visit. All guests must complete awaiver before using the facility.

CHILDWATCHAs an added benefit to your facility membership, the Wade Walker Y provides adrop-in care area for children 3 months to12 years. You will need your membership cardand the child’s membership card to sign in tothe Children’s Play Center. Children may utilize the center for two hours a day, up toeight hours per week. Activities include age-appropriate toys, board games, arts andcrafts, and much more!

AFTER SCHOOL CARE

The Wade Walker Park Family YMCA After School EnrichmentProgram is designed to provide quality child care for all students to develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, andphysically in a safe environment. We do this by providingpositive interactions and exciting theme-based activitiesthat help build strong values, enhance education, improveacademic performance, and promote a healthy lifestyle.Family and community involvement is strongly encouraged tosupport our program goals.

The program takes place at the Wade Walker Y facility andbegins upon dismissal from school and runs until 6:30 pm ondays DeKalb County Schools are in session.More Info + Register

Skill Development: Skill development will utilize technology,daily reading time and scheduled review sessions to supportthe students as they increase their skill level in reading andmath. The YMCA uses the KidzLit & KidzMath programs toaccomplish these goals.

Conflict Resolution: This activity creates a concept of taking responsibility for your actions and learning how todeal with hardships and disputes with others.

Creative Arts: This activity introduces the students to different aspects of the arts such as music, poetry, dance,writing, painting, live performances, and plays.

Character Development: This activity works to build each child’s self esteem and confidence. Each child receives reassurance regarding their own capabilities and is encouraged to set high achievement goals.

Recreational: Students will participate inorganized outdoor and indoor game activitiesthat will address fitness while having fun.

Nutrition: Students will receive nutritionalsnacks and dinner daily.

Registration: Our fee for service programsare offered on a sliding fee scale based onhousehold income.

Income Weekly Rate$0 - $20,000 $59$20,001 - $25,000 $64$25,001 - $35,000 $69$35,001 or more $74

Proof of household income must be providedto receive discounted rates. Acceptable formsof income verification are (2) concurrent paystubs and your most recent tax return.

Scholarships are available on a first come,first served basis and based on need. Theywill be awarded until available funds havebeen expended.

The full weekly fee is assessed if a child is inattendance for 3 or more days that week.One half of the weekly fee is assessed if thechild is in attendance for 1-2 days. Thisoption can only be used twice during theschool year. You must provide advance noticeif your child will be absent from the programfor a week or more so that slots can be madeavailable.

If an outside agency assumes responsibilityfor payment of program fees, the standardrate of $74/week per child.

TEEN CENTERLocated on the main level, the teen center is a safe, funplace to hang out for ages 13-18. Pool Table and Ping Pong Table

Daily Activities: Board games, homework center, XboxKinect, art, music station, lending library, teen conversationsand more!

TEEN LEADERSHIP

Join the Y Teen Leaders ClubThe Y Teen Leaders Club is a program that brings teenstogether to develop group leadership skills, as well as allowing individuals to grow by building a healthy spirit,mind, and body. Teens meet on a regular basis, and are ableto participate in volunteer activities year round.

Retreats: Each semester teens are invited to join us foreither our middle school or high school retreat. Retreatactivities include team building, hiking, guest speakers andmuch more. Active teens are also invited to apply for ourassociation's international mission trips.

HAPPY CLUB

The Happy Club is aYMCA of Metro Atlantaprogram that providesteens and adults withdevelopmental disabilities the opportunity to furtherdevelop their social and community skills.

Eligibility:

• Participants must complete all Happy ClubApplication (YMCA) forms before participation.

• Participants must be 18 years or older. Younger participation may be allowed at the coordinator’s discretion if he/she has appropriate social skills for group interaction.

• No person shall be excluded on any of the prohibited bases: race, sex, religion or origin.

• Participants must be mildly mentally handicapped. Participants must be able to communicate their needs (verbally or non-verbally), feed themselves and use the bathroom themselves.

• Participants must not be aggressive or violent.

• Participants must observe and abide by the Happy Club rules—based on the YMCA Character Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

The Happy Club meets every 1st/3rdSaturdays of the month. Activities include:arts & crafts, health & wellness, field trips,social gatherings and community involvmentprojects. MEM: Free PRO: $40

BASKETBALL More Info + Register

Basketball Clinics ages 7-17: Two levels ofskills and drills. Basic is run by Y coaches andElite is run by former NCAA & NBA players.Basic ages 7-15 • Elite ages 9-17

Basketball League ages 3-18: AtlantaHawks Affiliation Basketball League is greatfor new players learning the sport as well asthe seasoned player. Each player (ages 5+)will receive two ticket vouchers for anAtlanta Hawks home game. Registrationbegins in October.Season: December – March

CHEERLEADING

Select Soccer Tryouts ages 6–19: DeKalb United FC offersAcademy & Select Soccer for boys & girls ages 6–19.Individuals on these teams are trained to play at the highestlevel of youth soccer with an increased emphasis of developing highly skilled and competitive players.

TENNIS

Youth Tennis ages 5-15: This is an introductory coursedesigned to teach the fundamentals of the sport: propergrip for forehand and backhand, serving and volleying, rulesand etiquette. The more experienced player can advancetheir game with the YMCA’s world ranked tennis pro at thehelm of their training. Programming is sponsored by a partnership between the United States Tennis Associationand the YMCA allowing all 10 and under youth participantsfree USTA membership. Price includes T-shirt! MARTIAL ARTS

Karate ages 4-19: Martial Arts offer character building,structure, coordination and physical skill development. Weoffer the discipline Tae Kwon Do to enhance physical fitness, mental strength and spiritual well being. The curriculum includes cardiovascular workouts and calisthenics, establishing life long defense as well as prevention of bullying, conflict management and copingwith peer pressure. Status Me allows members to receiveinstant text and/or e-mail notificationsto alert them of facility, gym, field, orpool closings, as well as, practice orgame cancellations.

Steps to Register:

1. Go to www.statusme.com

2. Click JOIN NOW

3. Provide all necessary information & log in to your account

4. Add your phone number, then click NEXT

5. Select GA from the State Bar, Select Metro Atlanta YMCA from the Group Bar, Wade Walker YMCA from the Club Bar. Click JOIN. Click NEXT.

ACTIVE OLDER ADULTS

Active Older Adults (AOA) in the Y experience a strongsense of belongingness and a network of friends whoprovide supportive communities for sustained health andwell-being. Though on-going, fun, safe, and engaging programs, activities, and events AOA members increasestheir self-confidence and a sense while building relationships and celebrating the success and milestones ofeach older adult within their AOA community. Older adults,ages 50 & above, are a significant and growing segment ofour communities. All AOA benefit from engaging in Y activities that enhance connections, decrease a sense ofisolation, and improve overall well-being.

Coffee & Conversation: Come relax and socialize with fellow members after enjoying your exercise routine at theY. Our schedule sometimes includes mini seminars andthemed activities. Topics may include: Saving 101, Medicare,Health Information Series, etc.Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

DESIGNATE + EVALUATE = ACCELERATE

Welcome to the our new Y Swim Lesson Upgrade. Our “Designate + Evaluate = Accelerate” model makes swim learning and advancement more efficient then ever before!

DESIGNATE – Register by age group.

• Infant & Toddler ages 6 - 36 months A Parent + Child Class!

• Preschool ages 3-5 years

• School-Age ages 6-12 years

• Teen & Adult ages 13+

EVALUATE – Each participant will be skill tested during thefirst class to determine their Stage of Learning

ACCELERATE – Participants are placed according to currentskill level so they can advance quickly through the stages tobecome a confident swimmer.

Ratios Rule: 1:12 for Infant-toddler, 1:4 for preschooland 1:6 for all other lessons ensure participants have atrained instructor at every level and ability to help themprogress through the stages.

Swim Starters: Accompanied by a parent, infants and toddlers learn to be comfortablein the water and develop swim readinessskills through fun and confidence-building experiences, while parents learn about watersafety, drowning prevention, and the importance of supervision. This group is onlyparent-child lessons for ages 6 months to 3years, and contains the following stages...A – Water DiscoveryB – Water Exploration

Swim Basics: Students learn personal watersafety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills:• Swim, float, swim—sequencing front glide, roll, back float, roll, front glide, and exit• Jump, push, turn, grabThis group is for ages 3 years & older, andcontains the following stages...1 – Water Acclimation2 – Water Movement3 – Water Stamina

Swim Strokes: Having mastered the fundamentals, students learn additional watersafety skills and build stroke technique, developing skills that prevent chronic disease,increase social-emotional and cognitive well-being, and foster a lifetime of physicalactivity. This group is for ages 3 years &older, and contains the following stages...4 – Stroke Introduction 5 – Stroke Development (ages 5 + up only)6 – Stroke Mechanics (ages 5 + up only)

Lightning Policy: We close all pools, saunas, steam rooms, and pool decks for 30 minutes following lightning or thunder.

Make–Up Policy: In the event of inclement weather, we will attempt to make up class on Friday. Please make sure we haveyour current email and phone number on file. In the event child misses a lesson, we cannot guarantee credits or refunds.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private/Semi-Private Lessons members only ages 3+:You can schedule private lessons that include a 3-hour block of time (your choice of three 1-hour orsix 30-minute lessons).

GROUP WATER EXERCISE

Now offering: Water Aerobics Shallow, Aqua Zumba, WaterChallenge, Water Balance, Stability and Stretch classesevery week in the Cove. See group exercise schedule formore details.

TRAININGS

CPR & First Aid: Individuals may participate in theAmerican Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) classes toreceive certification. Register at the Membership SalesDesk. CPR and CPRO classes are offered the first Saturdayof the month. You must register two days in advance of theclass start date. Monthly

YMCA Lifeguard Certification: Must be at least 16 yearsof age to take this class. Please see the Aquatics Directorfor more details.

POOL INFORMATION

Indoor Pool HoursMonday - Friday 5:30 am – 9:15 pmSaturday 8:00 am – 5:45 pmSunday 12:00 – 5:45 pm

Child Pool Policy: Children under 12 yearsof age are not allowed in the pool area without a parent. Parents must be in thewater with non-swimmers. Children 12 yearsold and can pass the swim test, can swim inthe pool area without their parent; howeverthe parent must be present in the building.All children who have NOT celebrated their4th Birthday MUST wear pool pants or a disposable swim diaper covered by a linedbathing suit to swim at the Y. Only children 5& under are allowed in the Kiddie Splash Pool.

SWIM TESTS

Swim tests are given by a lead guard in theindoor pool. The test consists of swimmingfreestyle one length of the pool, jumping inthe deep end, treading water for one minuteand being able to float on their back. Eachmember will be given a card with their information on it. That card will be their passto receive a wrist band to be able to swim inthe deep end. Only one test attempt perswimmer, per day and if allowable by leadguard.
