Walker Ford / Lehman AirSep Kit NOTE: Since this installation may require some kit parts to be modified it is advisable to contact your mechanic for installation. **INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - WALKER FORD / LEHMAN** This AIRSEP kit is designed to fit most Ford/ Lehman Diesel engines. You may require some additional fittings to complete the installation, so it is advisable that you "LAY-OUT" the parts prior to installation to become more familiar with the parts you have, and the fittings you may need. Some installations inside an engine compartment may require some thought as to positioning the unit. Most installations may require a fitting to connect the AIRSEP oil drain to the dipstick or to an auxiliary oil port above the oil pan. It may be necessary to use some of the Factory parts to complete this installation. 1) Remove the Factory Air Filtration system and clean the mounting surface. Use caution not to damage the gasket. 2) Using the Assembly Schematic, "DRYFIT" the Walker AirSep plenum to the inlet to check for any obstructions, the plenum is designed to fit facing either fore or aft, positioning the AirSep so that the 3/8" N.P.T. oil drain fitting is in the 6 O'clock position. 3) Once the positioning has been verified, re-install the plenum gasket and tighten the bolts, install the 2.5" I.D. hose to the plenum and the AirSep to the 2.5" hose, tighten the hose clamps. Drain position is critical. 4) After installing and securing the AirSep, locate the engine crankcase breather. This will be on top or on the side of the engine block. 5) Locate the 3/4" to 1/2" hose reducer and attach to a 6" x 1/2" I.D. hose supplied, next install the Vacuum Regulator into the 3/4" I.D. straight hose. Check to guarantee that the flow direction is correct; the arrow should point toward the AirSep. Attach to the 1/2" O.D. breather outlet 6) Connect the 3/4" Walker Flex hose from the AirSep to the Vacuum Regulator. Trim the hose as necessary to insure that there are no "low-spots" in the flow to the AirSep blow-by inlet. 7) Using the 1/2" oil drain hose, connect to the fitting on the bottom of the Air Sep, routing to the oil return position on the crankcase. Trim this hose as necessary to insure that there are no "low-spots" in the flow to the check valve. The check valve must be installed no closer than 18" from the AirSep. Install check valve to supplied oil fill cap and replace existing cap. Use caution not to leave the hose open to "chafing". The Walker check valve must be installed vertical or within 30° of vertical to operate properly, check to guarantee the flow direction is correct, the arrow should point down from the AirSep. This system closes the crankcase, all other openings to the crankcase, such as breathers, down draft tubes and vents need to be closed and / or removed. The air filter should be cleaned every 250 hours or once a year. If the air restriction gauge on the AirSep turns red the air filter must be cleaned or replaced. The filter supplied with the AirSep can under normal circumstances be cleaned and re- oiled up to three times. Cleaning and re-oiling kits, part # DDF9016, are sold by Walker Engineering and our Dealers. FAQ’s and AirFilter Cleaning Tips

Made in U.S.A.

This kit cleans and oils up to four (4) 9x12 or equivalent sized filters.

How often do I need to clean my air filter? You should clean your air filter every 250 to 300 hours, or every year whichever comes first.

How often should I replace my air filter? Replace your air filter after four (4) cleanings or every 3 or 4 years depending on condition of filter.

Is it better for my engine if I clean the air filter more often? No, follow the cleaning interval listed above. Cleaning too often will impair the vacuum action of the AIRSEP.

Can I use other liquids to clean and oil my air filter? No, your AIRSEP air filter may be damaged by harsh detergents or liquids other than the recommended cleaner in this kit. Other oils may be too light or too heavy to properly capture airborne dirt. Use the appropriate Walker kit to clean and recondition your standard or blue air filters.
