Annual Business Meeting.

The first 2014 Annual Business Meeting also took place, kicked off with celebration and appreciation for the founding Chapter members created the chapter and the governance teams who’ve kept it alive and continuously progressing after 10 years. Next there was a very positive Financial Report from newly elected Treasurer Josh Klika, with the members approving the evolving 2014 Budget. We then received a first-hand look at the new Chapter website from Public Relations & Marketing’s Sue Ownby, and our fun new Facebook page from Social Media’s Jessica Smith, who announced Linked In to be the next social media the Chapter moves to. Theresa Teschlog gave us an Education and Training update for the year, with many interesting classes coming our way. Lastly, we cheered over a wonderful membership success story shared by Nelson regarding Chris Collier, our first student member recruited by Cynthia, who became an intern for Nelson, and is now employed by King County!

Guest Speakers.

We expressed our appreciation for the three distinguished guest speakers that presented excellent topics:

Tammy Rimes of Tammy Rimes Consulting – “How to take your herd to the Winner’s circle” Ramsey Ramerman, Assistant City Attorney, City of Everett “Purchasing and Public Disclosure” Steve Lerch, Executive Director of the State Economic and Revenue Forecast Council – “State’s

economic and revenue outlook”

They will truly be hard to match going forward… Keeping everyone engaged, they provided fantastic information and lessons to put into practice and share back with our agencies.

The awards portion of the day was spectacular. Touching speeches were given about each of the deserving recipients. Nelson, Tim and Cynthia all appeared to be moved by the nominations and winning the awards. The volunteers, certifications and other important recognitions were also incredible, we have quite a group of compassionate contributors to our chapter. Congrats to all, thank you for your dedication….

Here’s to continuing to have a winning year, for the Chapter, its members and our beloved Washington sports teams, go Hawks!
