PREDICTION

In the Predict component, the predictions that Watson Analytics delivers include visualizations and text descriptions of analyses that are based on your data quickly and efficiently.

Using sophisticated algorithms, Watson Analytics decides which analyses are important and generates both visualizations and words to describe those analyses. You can use the visualizations to see the analyses at a glance and read the text for supporting explanations and statistical details.

Page 39: Watson analytics

PREDICTION

Before you create a prediction, ensure that the data source that you want to analyze is available on the Welcome page. If it isn't there, import it.

On the Welcome page, tap Predict.

Choose a data set from the table in the Create a Prediction box. i.e. OnlineShoppingPortal

In the Create a Prediction page, enter a name for your prediction in the Name your workbook field. i.e. PortalPrediction

Review the targets. The targets are the fields of interest. They are fields that are influenced by the other fields in the data set. The data set defines the default targets and field properties.

Assemble

The Assemble capability helps you to convey the analysis and insights that you discovered in Predict and Explore.

There are two types of views that you can assemble: stories and dashboards. A story or dashboard contains visualizations. A visualization is a graph, chart, plot, table, map, or any other visual representation of data.

You can add visualizations to your view in the following ways:

Reusing visualizations from existing explorations and predictions.

Creating new visualizations from columns in a data set.

Having IBM® Watson™ Analytics create a visualization for you by answering a question or intention that you pose.

Page 48: Watson analytics

Assemble

On the welcome page, tap Assemble

Select a dataset from the table in the Create a View box. i.e. OnlineWebsitePortal.

Enter the name of Dashboard. i.e. ShoppingPortalDashboard

Types of dashboards include single page, tabbed, and infographic. You can assemble the following types of dashboards:

Single page - Displays all of your visualizations on one page.

Tabbed - Separates your visualizations into categories or hierarchies. For example, you can create separate tabs for sales by country, region, and total sales.

Infographic - Conveys information with lots of pictures. An infographic is one long page that you scroll through.
